Title: Lizards with lasers
Post by: Raider4 on 30 August 2011, 06:52:53 PM
Howdo,

So, SF27 and SF28. Are they based on the normal Lizardmen range? Or the Tribal Lizardmen range? Or a new design altogether?

Also, shouldn't SF27 have 10 figures in a pack, not 5?

Thanks, Martyn

They're the same as the regular Lizards in the Fantasy range, with the mounted ones being on odd looking Lizard-y type two legged beasts.  The SF27 code should indeed say 10 figures, well spotted.  I'll get that changed.

Reminds me of a true story (I know, I was there).  The title took me back.

Many years ago some of the guys I re-enacted with also ran private off-society weekends of Live role playing in a Norman castle near Winchester.  Half the site was woods, and of the buildings only a flint gatehouse remained.  However there was a 40 foot high earth embankment that once boasted a pallisade (many centuries ago)

On a SF lasertag weekend 3 of us were exploring a alien planet.  Bretsy is at the top of the rampart, me halfway down, and Pete at the bottom.
Me - What can you see
Bretsy - A chicken with a blaster [ok so not a lizard- but the thread title caught my memory]
Me - Do what
Bretsy - A chicken, with a blaster
Pete - What did he say
Me - He said their is a chicken with a blaster
Pete - What?
Me - A chicken with a blaster
Pete - Hold on, I'm coming up

A short scramble later

Me - He's right - that is a Chicken with a blaster.

In actual fact the 'alien' was a recycling of a Runequest costume they had used before.

At least it wasn't a chicken with a baster which would have been really scarey revenge wise.

I'd be more scared of a chicken with an onion. :o

This one claims to be SF27:

However, having found this picture of the mounted fantasy lizardman, I'd say it's actually SF28, which Leon said above it's based:

FL6 - Lizard Rider (http://www.flickr.com/photos/pendraken/4441664480/) by Pendraken Miniatures (http://www.flickr.com/people/pendraken/), on Flickr

In which case, this is probably the best candidate as the base figure for SF27:

FL3 - Lizard with bow (http://www.flickr.com/photos/pendraken/4440884783/) by Pendraken Miniatures (http://www.flickr.com/people/pendraken/), on Flickr

Is this the case Leon?
