Here's some more WW1 artillery for Luke: these based as two guns together in emplacements; they'll have camo netting as well [still working on the design of that]
Bases are 80mm x 80mm
Basic construction - balsa & plaster:
Guns aren't prepped / assembled at this stage & nothing's glued down - this was just tinkering with layout

Core construction: mix of pre-mixed filler, PVA, sand & a touch of water:
Germans are getting the sandbags; guns are prepped & assembled at this stage, but not fixed to bases

Once that's dried, time to fix the guns, crews & clutter:

For the netting you need a right angle arm drilled into the base, with the arm coming backwards about half way across your gun pit.
Are they going to go something like this:

Yep - that's the fellas - thanks for the links :)
I'm toying with the idea of making these detachable though...and possibly using a paperclip as opposed to wood...what do you think?
again cant wait for these, looking forward to see how they come out
Looking nice, I'll be watching for the netting as well, should be cool. Are the resin boxes homemade? Could be an easy item to knock up when I've got a minute.
I think the resin boxes are from Nigel at The Square [could be wrong though] - found them in the depths of the bits box...
They's be really useful though if you did do some: along with more debris & clutter - can always do with more clutter :)
I have a feeling that being detectable will shorten the camo nets lifespan considerably, possibly have them as a sabot stand for the guns to nest in?
Yeah - I'm not sure...I'll have to have a play I think; at least I can get on with painting everything else while I ponder... :)
Assembled, with camo net frame - I have glued this in for durability; have gone for one on each base - with two it would have obscured the guns too much [which I know is the point, but aesthetically..!]: additional sand texture, undercoated black & overbrushed base & figures with Beasty Brown:
