Title: SYW Hanovarian Artillery
Post by: T13A on 03 April 2010, 09:01:56 AM
I was wondering what colour paint people use for the coats of Hanovarian artillerymen for the SYW? Sources seem to describe them ranging from 'light blue' to 'grey blue' and the illiustrations that I have seen appear to be nearer what I would call 'mid blue'.

Many thanks

Have a look at this page. It may help to make up your mind. Remember that in 10mm shades of colours can be lost once on the table which means you can get away with the British model of mid or even Royal Blue.

In my opinion this picture portraits not a gunner but pontonier or pionier. Artillerists had red waistcoats as per Ortenburg/Niemeyer. But as you disscuss a colour shade I do my artillerists sky blue with a bit of grey.
