Well, the new season kicks off soon, so it's time again for the Pendraken Fantasy Football League!
http://fantasy.premierleague.com (http://fantasy.premierleague.com)
Entry is easy, simply follow the link above and register yourself. You'll be guided through the process of choosing your team name (see note below!), and selecting your players (harder than you think!). Once you've done that, you'll need to go to the 'My Leagues' tab (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/my-leagues/ (http://fantasy.premierleague.com/my-leagues/)), and click 'Join a league'. A little window will appear where you need to select 'Private League' and click Next, and then you will need to enter the following league code:
574883-198944
And that's it! You can play about with your team up until 11:30am on the first day of the season (13th Aug).
Now, on to the fun bit, the prizes!
The Winner of the League will win £25 worth of Pendraken credit!
The runner-up will receive £10 worth of Pendraken credit!
We will also have a small £5 prize for the winner of the Best Team Name, as chosen by Dave!
Give us a shout if you've got any questions on anything to do with your team, and we hope you all enjoy the coming season!
:-bd
Football :o? you can't be serious, it'sm only just August, I thought we still had a few more weeks before the whole wretched footy thing kicked off :'( :'( :'(
Just joined. I'm keeping my name from last year so I'm out of the running for best name.
The Grenadiers will win it all this year
Or not...

Only 10 days! :D
I think The Duke of Wellington is quoted to have said: "If there`s anything in this world I know positively nothing about, it`s agriculture".
For me the same applies to football @-)
.... I`m a sad case. I sometimes wonder what Im`missing out on :-\
Six :D
My prediction for the Next years football leigue... DAFTcasting FC will be top 8) sorry fellas but it's on the cards ;D. If not (this is very likley) I am a TOON fan (newcastle united) so disapointmet and misery :'( is a default of most TOON fans! Still can't wait! ;D
I'm in this. I will win this dead easy. I know about footy... being a rotherham fan... ahem.
Hi Alan - i work in Rotherham but manage to avoid the team for a better class of last minute goal conceders (c'mon Boro :( >:()
Season starts on Saturday, make sure you've got your team in!

Ah, for crying out loud! >:( The season's not even started and I've got 4 of my starting 11 out injured! Stupid players... grumble... :'(

That's the only good thing, I've got to go rethink my team now... :-\

Well, if it's any consolation, I've changed my team about 6 times today.
Well, I've had a quick look, but still can't make up my mind. There's been some interesting transfers, but I'm wary of adding them, in case they don't start. I made that mistake last year with 7 out of the 11 being new transfers, and only half of them played... >:(

5 times this week for me
Yep, just done mine again. I'm not really happy with the team though, so no doubt it'll get changed again before the weekend! (That is if the season actually kicks off on time... :-\ :( )
Oh well, just signed up for another season of angst, despair, hopelessness, pitting of wits (at least that bit doesn't take very long), confusion, and of course ultimate dissapointment - yes it's Fantasy Football 2011/12!
Come on you Donkeys...

Have you joined the Pendraken league, I can't see your name in the League table?
im in
I'm in, but as I know zero about football my choices have been essentially random!
Now a fantasy cricket team I might have more idea about.
Still, this way is more fun!
Welcome on board!
I've been in a week or so. I've pretty much nailed it really. Leon, just send soem of that league of augsburg stuff. Thats would be great.
UP THE MILLERS!
A.
Don't forget to get your teams in before 11:30am Saturday morning!
Looks like there's some last minute rush: I can't login - keep getting an "over capacity" message :'(
Maybe someone looted the server... :D
I think they might have y'know...I've been trying to get in for hours - still no luck :(
It's back up! Team sorted, I can go to bed now!
Gah...FFS...still can't get in...not impressed. At all. ~X( :-w :( >:(

Have you not been able to get a team done at all then?
Nope - clearly, someone, somewhere, is worried about my fantasy managerial capacity ;)
Tried from 3 different machines last night / today, using 3 different browsers & even nicked my neighbours wireless connection...still no joy. Feck it - you'll just have to take my word for it that I had the team selection
so sorted that I would win with no changes made all season. You've got my address for the prize [I think I'll probably tie with Alan - I like his choice, I'll have some LoA as well please] ;) :d 8-}
Currently my bench has scored more than my team :(
Yeah, I've had an average day, only 4 played. Couple of transfers beckoning already though...
Finally...I'm in.. 8)
That. Was. Painful. :(
And, of course, I have no points for the weekend... :'(
:( I do not appear in the league but it shows on my list of leagues I am in :(
Some good choices made in some of those teams there! I kinda wish I'd taken the punt on Cahill now...

Hmm.. that's odd, I've sent an invite through, so if you follow the link in that, it should make you pop up in the League hopefully? If not, let me know, and I'll contact them about it.
It allows me to post in the forum but team does still not show in table

We'll have to send them an email I think, if you let me know your team name, I can contact them for you if you like?
This should have landed in everyone's Inbox, but just in case:
As you may already be aware, many fans trying to access Fantasy Premier League on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning experienced problems logging in or registering teams prior to the Gameweek 1 deadline.
While the demand reached unprecedented levels on Saturday morning, we fell short of the standards you expect from the world’s biggest fantasy football game and make no excuses for what was both a frustrating and disappointing experience ahead of the new season. For this we apologise unreservedly.
Our technical teams worked throughout the weekend to ensure the technical issue that led to the problems experienced by users was dealt with. Work also continues to improve the quality of your experience with additional steps taken in the game itself that enable you to:
1. Receive unlimited transfers
No points will be deducted for any transfers you make up to the Gameweek 2 deadline (11:30 BST on Saturday 20th August 2011). If you made multiple transfers earlier this week, you will not be penalised. If you had opted to play your wildcard, this will be restored to your account once the Gameweek 2 deadline passes.
2. Opt to start mini-league scoring at Gameweek 2
The option is available to all mini-league administrators to start the scoring from Gameweek 2. Go to ‘Leagues’ > ‘League name’ > ‘Administer’ > Select ‘Gameweek 2’ in ‘Scoring Starts’ drop-down menu and click ‘Update league details’.
3. Win a VIP trip to watch Man Utd v Chelsea
The manager of the team that accumulates the most points in Gameweeks 2, 3 & 4 will win a VIP trip for two to watch Man Utd v Chelsea on Sunday 18th September 2011 . The prize includes all transport, two nights’ accommodation, match tickets, pre-match hospitality and £250 spending money. If there is a tie between teams, the team with the fewest transfers between Gameweeks 2-4 will win the trip. In the event of a further tie, the winner will be selected at random.
4. Win a new monthly prize - iPad2
Each monthly winner of Fantasy Premier League 2011/12 will be able to choose between receiving an iPad2 or the current monthly prize (replica shirt, iPod nano & digital camera). The runner-up will then receive whichever prize is not claimed by the monthly winner.
• The login/registration system had to be upgraded during the summer - this service is delivered by a new third party provider and is the most significant change from previous seasons.
• The live updates will be functioning for Gameweek 2.
• All league standings will be updated after each points update as per previous seasons. The single update for Gameweek 1 was an isolated case.
• If you have problems logging in, please try resetting your password by entering your email address on this page: https://users.premierleague.com/PremierUser/login/reset_password.html You’ll be emailed a new password to use that you can change to something more memorable once youve logged in by visiting ‘My Account’. If you are not receiving the password reminder, please check your Junk folder in your email inbox and add noreply@send.premierleague.com to your Mailing List to ensure that the email arrives in your inbox.

Of particular interest there is the news that all transfers are now free until the start of Gameweek 2, which has a deadline of 11:30am on Saturday. Might be time to shift some folk around a bit maybe?! :D

Coolio - are you starting the scoring from now then? :-\ :-*

Hmmm... not sure. If everyone else is happy to do that, I can change the scoring settings?
most folks seemed to get their team organised in plenty of time for week 1....
Is it just me or is anyone else tired of the constant glitches with the fantasy football league site?
Now when I check my standing in the different leagues it says that they are aware of some scoring problems and are working to fix them. The seem to fix one issue and others crop up.
The Grenadiers.

What problem's have you had?
They seem to have fixed most of them so far, the live scoring is back up, and Sandinista's team has been added now. The only one left I've spotted was logging in on Saturday afternoon.
It looks like they havent updated the points from yesterday.
I also checked about an hour after the ManU Spurs game and the site was completely down.
It looks like they can't do any massive calculations without bringing the entire site down.
That, and the fact that I'm toward the bottom of the table. :)

I noticed the site has been down while the matches are in progress, which was a shame, I thought they'd keep everything going for the live scoring. All yesterday's points are up now, as are the ones from tonight's Utd/Spurs game. The individual team points were updated a while before the league was though.
One more thing...
I have 80 total points but the table shows I have 79. Anyone else missing a point?

OverPaidBadlyPlayed's had a fair old weekend there! Young, Henderson and Adam in midfield, for a combined 45 points!
I was gutted that I'd taken the Captain's armband off Rooney... >:(
Top of the League, c'mon!!! :D
(I'm gonna make the most of it while I can...! ;) )
That's the pesky international break over, let's get back to some regular Premier League action!
Man Utd vs Liverpool @ 12:45pm today, and where am I? In the van on the way down to SELWG! :'(
Can't believe I had to go to a wedding yesterday, and missed the Manchester derby! >:(
Some headlines so far:
"Man City fans have not seen a win like yesterday's since they were Chelsea fans."
"Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea fans celebrating the fact that Manchester City beat Manchester Utd is like celebrating when another man gives your wife an orgasm because you could not."
:D

:D
this a bit like when Sunderland and Newcastle get beat, and the boro' fans are celebrating ?
and lets be honest i support only 2 football teams : Liverpool and whoever play ManUre.
Schadenfreude is a wonderful thing. Its what keeps me going :)
Well my team came third - do I get in the champions league now:-)
I unfortunately dropped like a bomb over the last few weeks after holding 2nd for a while... :(
Got to say though, that's the most amazing afternoon of football I've ever seen, and I doubt it'll ever happen again. It's going to take me until the start of the new season to recover! :o
I won all 3 leagues I was in last year, this year it was 2nd, 5th and 8th :'(
Well, I was going along really well until the Boxing Day matches. Coupled with a number of bad transfers, I couldn't catch up and wound up near the middle of the table. However I did win my head-to-head league so this fantasy season wasn't all bad.
Double bonus for me - being a QPR fan and watching them almost beat City away (but more importantly stay in the premier league) plus seeing Alex Ferguson's face when he realised City had won ;D
