Let us know what you think!
I'm really pleased to see the 1920/30's gangsters high up on the list. Now whilst I wait for the figures I need to work out what rules to use with them !
Cheers, Andy.
Nice selection on the lists ........ Gangsters will be first on my to get list, I can use them in VBCW I'm sure ....... I hope they are done as a 'character' packs, as multiple sculpts/poses would work better than multiples of the same.
Cheers,
Kev
Mongols would top my to buy list
I'd say list is looking pretty good 8)
I would be interested in range 1,2,5,6,8 and 10 :-[
4 still leaves me scatching my head, oh well ???
Dont you do no in the individual, or am I fantasising about the 50 or so camel figures in the other room.
IanS
Mexicans still tantalisingly there....
Let us know what you think!
Not a lot, unfortunately
Chad
so a chaffee queue jumps the Tarletons ? that cant be right, i'd better summon my extremely vocal and eloquent partner........... Dazza...... DAZZA........ DAZZA!!.....DAZZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Trouble is, in the meantime new projects have arisen. I'd dearly like a few more figures in slouch hats and jungle greens, particularly an officer and an NCO. Otherwise, who are going to take on my new Japanese in Burma? :-\

Glad to see Yom Kippur War rising in the charts. Can't beat Arabs v Jews for a modern punch-up with "sexy kit"!
Got everything crossed that the Falklands gets done given 2012 is the 30th anniversary - and its been top of the top 10 since day one!

Wot nosher sed...with bells on. :)
And Gangsters too 8)
I'd really like to see the AWI stuff finished off so that the range is really close to completion.
Ok, I can understand most of the Top 10 Ranges but I am a little fuzzy about 1. Falklands War and 5. Yom Kippur, didnt they last like in blink of an eye? Falklands 70 something days and YK only 20 days? Did these two "wars" have massive land battles with thousands and thousands of troops? Yeah yeah I know you say what about 1866 and 1859 they were very short "wars" but they had hundred of thousands of troops in really pretty uniforms with fancy stuff on their hats ;)
I think it is truly wonderful that Pendraken has them on their lists, maybe, they are quick ranges to start and complete and then move on, but I dont know. However, looking at the Mongols that had HUGE armies for several years rillaging and paping the countryside , now that would be a cool range but there are some Mongols already in 10mm. Now looking at what is not in 10mm and had years and years worth of fighting - Aztecs - yeah - animal clothed feather wearing multi colored Aztecs, yum yum :D
Anyhoo, I think it is just too good to be true that we have a company like Pendraken that is trying to keep up with all of your gaming visions for battlefield armies, what other company does it so well and releasing every month stuff we are asking for - I mean - VCBW in 10MM - WOW! That is awesome.
So not to rile the feathers (feathers, aztecs wear feathers) of those of you wanting to game Falklands and Yom Kippur, I think it is great that they are on the list and I truly hope that when the ranges are complete you have hours upon hours of gaming delight and we want to see pictures :D
Now where are my habaneroes? I need to stuff them with jalapenos for a snack tonight =P~
Must admit I can't see the point of a Malvinas range, but each to their own as they say
I am a historicals gamer but, I would definitely add in some gangsters. If Clibinarium would be so kind and offer to take on the the line, it would be much appreciative. :)
Dave
I see your point on both Falklands and Yom Kippur. I think there's a couple of benefits to them though. Firstly, a lot of the figures for these would be multi-purpose and could be used in several other areas (although that would lead to another lot of requests!) Secondly though, they're quite small ranges for us to do, infantry-wise. There's a lot more vehicles needed, but we could have the foot done in a couple of months. Again though, as soon as we did a Falklands range, we'd get hit with the requests to fill in the gaps back through to Vietnam...!
:D
:D
Well said, Blakor. And if we're talking about gaps in available ranges, well, hang it all, the wars of the Conquistadores probably did more to shape todaughty's world than any others ever fought (possibly excluding the SYW).
Mongols spent time "paping" the countryside? Surely that would rather be what a 30YW imperialist army did to Prod territory?
:D 30YW
But Fierce, they have Gangstas on the list, gangstas - ooooh cant wait should be very cool :-bd
Hi Blaker
The appeal of the YOM Kippur War is not its length of time but the scale of the battles. Apart from the Iran/Iraq war these are some of the biggest battles since WW2. Certainly saw the largest tank battles since Kursk. It makes the falklands and both gulf wars look like skirmishes.
So if you like lots of kit and you are into modern (be it 1973) warfare then it has a lot going from the wargame point of view.
Its not just the size of the war it's also the type of kit. All the armour bar M41 needed for Nam (both sides), most for central Europe, certainly for WarPact, and new hulls for late WWII stuff, plus some is already made.
IanS ;) ;)
Howdy Martyn and ianrs54, that just goes to show ya how much I know about those wars :( I didnt know YK was on such a massive scale. They both sound interesting. I just like the way Pendraken is trying to keep up with all of our requests for minis - what a very cool time to be wargaming with miniatures ;)
How the blazes did THAT typo get in?
Gangsters.... oh my!!!!!
8) :x <:-P
Still think only one bag of gangsters will be more than you`ll ever need.
How many battles between the Al Capone Division vs the 29th police motorized brigade or the Bugs Moran mechanized corp were fought in chicago (er hello, NONE).
So the little wars like the falklands and yom kippur get my vote.

No!!! Silly little wars as Malvinas are not going to raise the same income revenues as the Mongols and their friends for a gaming company
Mongols maybe
But there are an awful lot of people who want modern stuff and we really only have one alternative which is minifigs (which aren`t for me ) or do it in 6mm which I`ve done in the past. But once bitten by the 10mm bug I can`t stand 1/300 now .
Hey Jim you are right, I hadnt noticed that there were no modern warfare minis available in 10 other than Minifig and Action 200. But Action is very limited and I havent seen Minifigs' range.
So I can "see the need" :-[ More so than Gangstas but gangstas can transcend many periods in history and in fantasy and in alternative :P
Okay Leon, get cracking on those Falklands and YK so the Mongols and Aztecs can get done sooner :D
It's an interesting three ranges there. The Falklands is a quite small range to do, several variations of foot, packed in 10's like the WW2 stuff. Add a few vehicles and away we go. Mongols are relatively easy as well, not many variations in figure type, but we'd need more variety in each pack I think.
The outsider is the Gangster's, where the figures needed are going to be more like personality types, and aren't going to sell in big numbers. Tricky one to justify cost-wise, despite a good level of interest.
Hmm, all food for thought! 8)
But gangsters and cops on foot need plenty of vehicles - cars, motorcycles and trucks - and then there's the possibility of "street furniture" e.g. fire hydrants, mail boxes, street lamps etc, so the range could expand.

minority rants are the best. Majority rants are a bit too noisy for my liking. :)
from a commercial point of view the mongols will be a big seller I would have thought even though I`m not interested in them at all.
The falklands will also be popular because no one else does them and like leon said it would be a small range ie
brits in berets, tin hats, lumberjack hats, mortars and HMGs and maybe a scorpion/schimitar.
argies in tin hats, special forces in wooly hats, mortars, Hmgs and a panhard armoured car.
As far as gangsters are concerned how many cars do do a hand full of gangsters need. But you will need buidings and streets to put your handfull of gangsters in so the builings would make more money than the figures.

I would be interseted in Mongols, and I suspect that buildings already exist.
YK would be better than Falklands however....

American "N" gauge would provide most of the buildings, cars etc.
martyn
I'm not familiar with railway accessories. Did a quick Google search but only found modern looking vehicles. Does anyone have any good links for N gauge (1/160th ?) stuff?
Cheers, Andy
Re N Gauge Buildings USA style
Try www.walthers.com they do a large range of plastic kits and there are UK suppliers or you can order direct. Another good USA supplier is www.caboosehobbies.com.

Martyn
Excellent. Thanks for the links Martyn.

Although I sound picky but how about adding some "vehicles" to the Falklands range?
Harrier, Vulcan, Super Tucano and of course the ships :D
Ships would be a tad large, would have thought the vehicles are a given.
IanS
We'll have the majority of the vehicles done, can't see us getting into the ships though... :-\
A county class DD is about 45cm long in 1/600th scale.......
we`ll settle for land bound stuff with wheels and tracks.
To keep the VBCW brigade happy - Farm Tractors.....
How about a farmers vs Tesco chief exec & managing boards range? Farmers will look mean, grumpy, bad tempered as the stereotype and be armed with shotguns, modified combine harvesters mounting multiple shotguns and repeating shotgun cockpits (like a kind of combine harvester flying fortress). Tesco management will have guns firing bribes into the pockets of councillors, MPs, government ministers and civil servants and an army of armoured Tesco delivery vehicles with 'civilian contractor' mercenaries riding shotgun and turrets firing '2 for £1' labels onto farmers crops that cost more than that to grow.
Also diorama of Tesco CEO ceremonially sacrificing farmer to the god Marr-Kett.
Hehe, we've got a brand new Tesco being built about 2 miles away at the moment. It's caused all kind of nonsense with the local roads.

Too soon for a Dale Farm set? You get riot police and bailiffs on one side, traveler and mercenary suporters with barricade options on the other!
Exapnsion sets of dogs and water cannons at a later date!
DaveT
He he he, got most of those already.
Sandanista, time for another riot game soon I feel!
I'm still waiting for a Mods vs Rockers Brighton Beach 1963 range ....

The Trumpton Riots Lyrics game plan
Ner ner-ner-ner ner-ner-ner ner
Ner ner-ner-ner-ner-ner
No! Oh oh oh!
Elevate!
Unemployment’s rising in the Chigley end of town
And it’s spreading like pneumonia
Doesn’t look like going down
There’s trouble at the fire station someone’s had the sack
And the lads are going to launch a scheme get rid of Captain Flack
Tell PC McGarry to get himself a mate
And arm themselves with CS gas
They’re gonna be out late
We’ve had Cant conformism since 1966
And now subversion’s in the air in the shape of flying bricks
Someone get a message through to Captain Snort
That they’d better start assembling the boys from the fort
And keep Mrs Honeyman right out of sight
‘Cos there’s gonna be a riot down in Trumpton tonight
All this aristocracy has really got to stop
We can overthrow the surgery and kidnap Dr Mopp
And Chippy Minton’s Socialists could storm the Market Square
And make plans to assassinate our autocratic Mayor
Windy Miller leads his Basque-like corn grinders to war
With windmill sails and bombs with nails they smash the town hall door
But Snorty and his boys arrive with one big erstwhile crew
Whereupon they bring about a military coup
Someone get a message through to Captain Snort
That they’d better start assembling the boys from the fort
And keep Mrs Honeyman right out of sight
‘Cos there’s gonna be a riot down in Trumpton tonight
Oh, someone get a message through to Captain Snort
That they’d better start assembling the boys from the fort
And keep Mrs Honeyman right out of sight
‘Cos there’s gonna be a riot down in Trumpton tonight
Meanwhile, back at sanity....
Any chance of WW2 command (officers, NCOs and HQ staff) in slouch hats? If I were being greedy I'd also ask for mortar and MG teams ditto. :)
AZTECS, AZTECS and more AZTECS
I've just been going though my lead mountain, which is and its currently a very small mole hilll and a completely new project would be AZTECS, thousands of 'em.
BUt my TANKS TANKS TANKS are far far more important.
Bloody minority imntertests making much noise - want silly 18th century head gear next :d ;D ;D

Quote4. Fantasy Bears
wait, what..fantasy bears?! :o
My personal favourite would be a resculped Wars of the French Revolution range..maybe 2013? :-/
There's going to be another French Revolution in 2013 ? Sacre bleu
well, today we are joking about it..
So quick Pendraken, bring on the new ranges before Europe descents into chaos :]]
AZTECS and their ENEMIES would be great :D
So would New Kingdom Egyptians and their Enemies :d
Aztecs, pretty please with sugar on top and violins in the background, with a cute kitten hugging a duckling to one side....
Fantasy revamp, Fantasy revamp, ,Fantasy revamp, ,Fantasy revamp, Fantasy revamp, Fantasy revamp, Fantasy revamp, Fantasy revamp, Fantasy revamp, :d :d
Oooh !.....There's some stuff there that I hope Clibby et al haven't volunteered for yet !
Better get through a certain range first though. :)
Cheers - Phil.
I'll be doing a revised Top 10 list in the next week or so hopefully, it'll be interesting to see what's changed... :-\
Any changes of late? ;)

Yes. In order to clear the backlog Pendraken have decided to produce one composite figure depicting a fantasy bear wearing a tarleton and feathers, riding on a T72 and performing a human sacrifice. Can also be used as a doorstop. ;)

I'll have a hundred...
So, are the fantasy bears humanoid bears, or "real" bears ala types?
If they are bearmen (not teddies though!) I'll vote for them!
