Everyone:
Construction is well underway. The basement walls are done and framing began this week.
I've placed pictures under www.photobucket.com, user name of MooseDontBounce. The 2 albums, 'After the Fire' and 'Teardown' have some so-so quality pictures. I was still figuring out the camera. 'After the Fire' has some pictures of the remains of the gaming room, my burnt collect of 'La Bataille da...' games, Military Modeler magazines, etc.
My album, 6-16-2011 Construction, has pictures of a bottle of Vallejo white paint I just found in the yard.
Every few days I'll upload pictures of the progress if anyone is interested.
Again, thank you for all the support.
Dale
Thanks for the update Dale, good to see some progress there. It's odd seeing the foundations being dug so low for the basements, we don't get them in many modern houses over here. The surroundings look nice as well, are you out in the countryside?
And have you tried using the Vallejo yet? :D

Leon:
First, thanks for the direct link, I didn't think of that.
There are many areas in this country were houses don't have basements. A basement is pretty much standard around here and we wanted a full size basement height wise so we went with an extra course or 2 of block. We live in the country next to Otisco Lake. It's about 20 miles from Syracuse NY. One of the smaller Finger Lakes in New York State. The lake is about 30 yards across the road from us but have no access rights.
I haven't tried the paint yet. It's still sitting in my truck.

Sounds like a nice place to live. When you say no access rights to the lake, does that mean you can't use it in any way? Or just no fishing/boating, etc.?
Looks a very pretty spot - well, before the digger got going anyway. :)
