Got these started soon after the Swedes were finished and now have two of four nine stand pike and shot tercio's completed with one more tercio almost done and one to do.
Two units of artillery, three units of cavalry, one of light horse, a musketcompany and three command stands to go.
No pics at this stage as the weather is bloody awful >:(

Better weather today so managed to take some pics. :)
Looking good so far nosher 8)
I like 'em. I wish we were in striking distance of each other; my Turks would like to meet them.
Looking good Nosher!
Excellent work, really effective painting style!
Mollinary
Hurrah for decent sized units! Nice job, guv. :-bd
8)
First unit of 4 stands of Cuirassiers polished off tonight, one more to do, one of arquebusier and one of LH, then onto command and artillery.
Nice feeling to be on schedule, but also feeling guilty that those Saxons in my other painting diary are languishing in the bedroom... (and the Normans and the Vikings)
Some Polish Renaissance figures will also hopefully be hitting the doormat anyday soon which will probably put the Saxons even further behind :o
Whose daft idea was it to start a bloody painting dairy anyway ;D

Yes, they will! All cast up, just adding the bases, then over to Mr Postie!

Bugger... I have been rumbled :P
They say every cloud has a silver lining and today that has certainly been the case.
I have been busily driving around the county from one school to another dodging rain clouds trying to coach cricket. I get an early finish because its bucketing it down at my last school and when I get to the club the weathers no better and I have to cancel a crunch match with our biggest rivals...
I head off home and paint two more cavalry units! OK so the army wont be finished for a game tommorow evening, and a lovely email today notified me that re-inforcements are on route, but it looks like I might for once churn out two complete armies in under six weeks.
In the middle of the cricket season too! :D
Good effort mate :)

If the weather forecast is to be believed you're going to get plenty of time for painting this month :(

Dont get me wrong I love my hobby, but I love cricket far more :o

Not sure about the cuirassiers - they feel a bit too armoured for my taste.
It's possible but rare for that much tin plate.

Nice work, they look good to me. :-bd
I forgot that the new Polish lancers are empty-handed, so we'll need to sort out some lances for them. We've got the 30mm pikes for the LOA range, what kind of size would you be looking for? And yes, you would be the first to show some pics of them! :D
I reckon the 30mm pikes would do the job. I presume this would be at cost or should they be part of the pack? If not it might be an idea to state that lances should be purchased seperately ;)

As it's only 8 needed, we might do them in with the pack. I'll have a chat with Dave.
All done :D
Just flocking to do but with two matches this week it will have to wait until the weekend. Pics to follow when thats done.
Leon, any chance of those lances (28) being posted on at some stage please?

Yeah, considering how expensive it was to equip a man with full harness, you've got the emperor's treasury on horseback there. I would have thought most cavalry of the period would be more like the ECW horse (in fact the two should be interchangeable). Like the painting, though. Wish I could get the lines that acurate. :(
So i managed to finish these and now have a few re-inforcements to add which I was too weak willed to resist... Damn you Leon/Dave ;D
Now based and primed are:
Two more units of Reiters and an infantry tercio added as well as two Swedish Brigades and a battalion gun for the enemy which rounds both armies off to 400points.
Already started - the nine stand German Tercio ;)
Tercio finished along with two four stand reiter units :)
Family BBQ tommorow after Cricket so no basing this weekend, however no matches this week so with a bit of luck these will be fully ready for a battle Friday night ;)

Managed to finish these even though I had to squeeze in two rearranged fixtures due to the weather! Might treat myself to a beer or six for getting these done to schedule :D
