My son came back from Uni with a copy of Adrian English's book , Green Hell, and keen on a Chaco style war - early to mid 1930s.
I remember a very interesting thread on this very topic a few months ago, and was thinking about a fictional Latin Amercan campaign based on using WW1 Brits in SD caps versus Australian types in slouch hats . SCW 32-35 could also feature, plus Boer war railguns and the corvette hull trimmed to a shallow draft river gunboat. Tanks - the F17 and T26 , Rolls Royce AC etc
I would use a few types of terrian - not just dense jungle - but scrub and grasslands, as the Chaco war does indeed seem to have been a green hell, and what's the point of nice mounted units if all the horses die ?
Aircraft are the only snag, but as all you need is ground attack and reccy, I might be able to update a WW1 biplane to a more 1930s design ?

SA is good, both inter war and post war. done a lot in 20mm. Don't forget there is a good range of plastic 1/144 aircraft out there.

Try Tumbling Dice at 1:600 Scale (very small planes, but thay are hundreds of feet n the air).
A number of the Spanish Civil War figures will also work well in a fictional South American setting. The Militia Andaluz are an obvious first stop if you are looking for rural Revolutionary types. And the SCW vehicle range contains some very handy Armoured Cars and Armoured Trucks. The SCW artillery range is also large and diverse and would solve a bunch of problems.

Doing this now started in 15mm with Spanish Civil War as a base but ordered a bunch of Pendraken figures and will move the project to 10mm shortly. You can follow background and some 10mm pictures to come on my blog. Anyone else doing this pictures and ideas please.

The Militia codes SCW 18-20 have great potential in a wide range of late 1890s to 1930s period games for that irregular Latin American look.
For the more regular, would RP3 (Russian Cav in cap) look better than British WW1?
From the skirmish last night, I must confess I have gamed too much in postwar and had forgotten how fast/far cavalry can move !

Very nice, and thanks for taking the trouble to source them. Yes, plenty of scope for a mid-1930s Latin America cracker of a fictional game. The beauty about fictional is you have freedom to equipt with wherever your armsdealers sell you.
