Title: Hell in the Pacific
Post by: Steve J on 26 March 2010, 06:55:04 PM
Just a heads up for a repeat of the superb four part Channel 4 documentary from a decade ago. In my opinion unmissable. I had very little knowledge of the war in the Pacific and came away with a feeling of an utterly brutal conflict. I can still see in my minds eye the footage of shell shocked soldiers shaking uncontrolably on troop ships awaiting shipping back to the USA.

Monday 29th March.
History Channel.
11.00pm.

Watch it if you can.

Just found the whole series on Youtube if, like me, you will be unable to catch it.

Excellent. Missed that first time round, very fair coverage including us Brits, Chinese and ANZACs, which is refreshing for Pacific War Docs.

Sounds like a good series but can't watch it in the USA.  Chanel 4 has blocked it on USA youtube.

Thanks for the heads up on this, I recorded them all and watched them this week.  I never knew how horrific this conflict, and the programmes covered all the different perspectives excellently.
