How do you throw your dice? Are you a hurler or a dropper or perhaps a manic shaker? I must admit that I like to see dice shaken vigorously before departing on their way across the table - even if some of the youngsters at our club have difficulty keeping them on an eight by six foot table. We once had a member who could toss a single die, with some backspin, and land it six-up five times out of six. We eventually had to bring in a house rule that the throw was not valid unless the die made a full rotation after hitting the table.
We have a "dropper", who releases the die from between finger and thumb from a height of about four inches, and another who, using a narrow cup, simply upends said vessel to reveal the cube underneith. Now, I am not suggesting for a minute that these throws are in any way illegal or unfair. I would just be happier if they were more obviously random.
OK, so that's my tale of paranoia. Trivial? Possibly. What do you think? :-S
hold in hand and rotate said hand until dice drop off... :D
I hate people using dice cups...I just hate the noise and completely unneccesary
Just a few shakes, moderate force, roll about 30 cm with multiple rotations, that's my style!
Bit like masturbation. Keep going until you see spots in front of your eyes....
Am I still on my primary choice forum :-[
