Hi there :)
Well Nikharwood mentioned this part of the board not been here before, hope its not too scary.
Today did some work on my WW2 Germans and my Fantasy stuff that ive had based up for at least 6 months. Just get them undercoated but its a start. Theres pics here http://brushwars.wordpress.com/2011/04/08/on-the-desk-undercoating/ not that pics of blury black blobs are amazing. But there nice and neat on a bit of card :).
As I get moving on them ill keep this post updated.
Take care
Brian

It's a good start, so keep up the good work. A little bit every day is a lot better than no painting at all.
Will you be going down the 'Castle Wolfenstein' road as well, or do you intend to keep these as two seperate projects?
Two seperate projects, the Germans are for my Blitzkreig Commander game, and the fantasy stuff is for dungeon hacking.
Should be good.
Good stuff mate. Personally I find that getting the figures under coated and based is one of the biggest hurdles. Now you get to do all the good bits which make the figures look great.
Castle Wolfenstein project sounds interesting... :-\ Might have to get some Germans to single based
I had similar thoughts.
Excellent - we need more Painting Diaries - thanks for posting here 8)

I find the same sometimes [like right about now..] - I've really enjoyed prepping & basing the figures & seeing the army take shape before my eyes...but there seems to be a mental block stopping me from reaching for the PVA & sand...I need to get motivated!
Got some more done on the germans today. Basicaly muddied the bases with 3 browns from Vallejo. Flat Earth, Beige Brown and Chocolate Brown. This is just so they dont look the same. Just to note i havent doubed any base in one colour they all have all 3 on, i just splodged it all over.
Yes i get it over peoples legs and such, but the fieldgrey will cover that up.

Good for you - there's a time to paint...and a time to feck about with other things 8)
Theres something satisfying about a table full of prepped figures just like you've done here. Back a couple of years ago when I was a frenzied painting machine I did the same with my 15mm Peter Pig ACW. I prepped them and based both armies in their entirety before psraying one grey the other blue. I then set to it, painting for two days solid and knocked out both armies to a nice standard.
That was then, this is now. I have lost count of the number of times I have managed to squeeze some free time for a bit of painting by packing wife and child off to mother in laws/baby group/friends house for a few hours, only to shut the door on them and think "mmm, better get the ironing done". =O
If anyone has seen my painting mojo can you rewturn it to me forthwith.

Doing the blog has really helped me keep to the "want to do at least one thing wargames related a day". And the kind words ive been given about the blog have also helped spur me on to do more.
Theres an update today, for those who dont like blogging though...
Ive done the dunkelgelb on my Trucks and support weapons today. Using middlestone from VMC. Its a brilliant colour that usualy goes on really well, see my tanks. But on the trucks it just kept having a black tinge. Ive had 3 thin coats on and decided thats enough. heres a couple of piccys.

Done some more on the trucks, I think they look very nice. Gryphonne Sepia wash on teh wood, Badab Black on the cab with a drybrush of VMC Middlestone over it. Then the tilts done in VMC Khaki and then ill be putting a Devlin Mud wash over it all.
As for the windows im not sure as yet dark blue with a couple of lines across it.
