Title: 1859/1864 Piedmontese and Sardinians?
Post by: Blaker on 31 March 2011, 04:01:11 PM
Just wondering what figures would work for the 1859/1864 campaigns for the Piedmontese and Sardinians?

Dave says the later Danes in the frock coats.

For 1866 Sardinians, I would have thought the Austrians in greatcoat would do at a pinch. I thought the Danes wore a kepi rather than a shako.

No. Austrian 1866. They wore a shako not a kepi. The new French Imperial Voltigeurs could probably be used as well.

Sooo, I can use the Austrian 1866 infantry for the Sardinians?

And use the Danes for the Piedmontese?

I am I getting close  :D

Now what about cavalry?

Have sent Blaker some scans from Casali's booklet. If anyone else would like them let me know.
