Found the time to give the Strange Aeons demo a second run-out today...
Our heroes, Howard & Blackwood, are trying to free the damsel they rescued from the evil Cultists and their pet zombie [here: http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=2566.0] - when a shuffling and groaning noise becomes apparent - the gunfire has attracted some more zeds:

The walking dead emerge from the tower to the rear of the compound:

They have the initiative as the Threshold agents continue to struggle with the damsel's bonds:

Howard turns and fires both barrels of his shotgun, felling the zombie (face down injury result), but Blackwood misses completely with his .45:

The zombie lurches forward at Blackwood, who passes his Resolve test in response to being charged by the Hideous shambler - but the fight is brutally one-sided & Blackwood has his throat ripped out as the other zombie staggers to its feet once more:

Howard turns to face the monstrosity that has just bitten his companion & blasts both barrels past the still-tied maiden, despatching the zombie in a puff of red mist:
He turns just in time as the remaining lurcher staggers into him: he also passes his Resolve test and, dropping his shotgun, he brings his Bowie knife to bear, again managing to knock the zombie down (face up):

The combat is fierce and the advantage swings both ways before ultimately Howard succumbs to the relentless blows of the undead...our poor unfortunate begins to scream...
...a scream which dies in her throat, lost in the empty desert, and turns to sobbing as he shuffles towards her:

Notes: another great game - those zombies proved much tougher in this game! Again, really enjoyed this - the game flows really well...can't wait for the full rules to arrive 8)
Sound like a lovely game! Can you provide some tech info i.e. rules and mini's?
What kind of minis do you use for Chtulhu?
Nm, found the other thread, sowwy!
No worries Rudy - figures so far:
Pulp / Threshold: mostly from SCW /Soviet WW2 ranges
Cultists: The two in the other report are the Mage & Cleric from the Dungeon Starter Set
Zombies: Ditto
I've also got [painted now, pics will follow soonish] a load of AC & DN codes which are suitably gribbly for Cthulhu...
And, over the weekend, I've just done some conversions of everything from a Persian standard bearer to a Jacobite lowlander to a German with MP40 to be more cultists; long robes, hoods...
I've also created a cult of Tong - think Fu-Manchu kind of thing - from a load of Indo-China spares, as well as three nice ghosts from some SYW spares too. Oh - and some ghouls and a witch and a mystical wise-man and another adventurer...
Like the proverbial wargames butterfly, this weekend I have managed to entirely avoid doing anything wargame-related that I had planned...like texturing the bases of a load of armies, taking pics & starting painting diaries...

Have you seen this?
David Morgan-Mar is a genius!

They certainly are: GR170 - and very lovely they are too...
If you get a pack of GR44 (boxes & sacks) you can add them in to the barricades & get some variety. Simples. 8)

"A paradox is a seemingly true statement or group of statements that lead to a contradiction or a situation which seems to defy logic or intuition."
Hence: "This is the Paradox Department! You can't be here!!...Oh, right." ;D

Thank you for the answer! Yes these packs appear very usefull.
Sounds (and looks) like you are having great fun with this Nik - though you are giving me more ideas you bugger ;D
Those barricades are definitely going on my 'need' list - not seen them before, and they look great.
Cheers,
Kev

They are top-notch: I tend to add in some GR44 to pretty much every order I make somehow..very useful!

Certainly am Kev - can't wait for the full rules to land...oh, and I really
am a bad influence :d <)
Believe me Nik is the Devil incarnate :d ;). Mind you, I'm just as bad an influence on him, or at least I'd like to think so!
The hardbook book does sound very intriguing and very tempting :).

Hmm...Steve: let me introduce you to Mr Kettle and Mr Pot ;) ;D :d 8)
Wait until I get the rulebook [probably late this week / early next] - I'll do a proper review before you go spending £30+ (half of which is trans-Atlantic shipping :(]
I think it'll be worth it...but I wouldn't want anyone to follow my initial path & then I (& you) discover that it's bobbins :o
