In a related thread, (10mm AIRCREW) Ian raised a very interesting point about cammo - or lack of it - on US AFVs after D DAY. If anyone has comment or info as to policy/custom why the US tankers used so little by way of nets etc. Please fire away.
My only suggestion was that cammo on an AFV works only when stationary, and the official US tactic may have been to keep on the move apres 6 June 1944. The decline in hostile Axis CAP may have removed the incentative.

Isnt it funny in such a well researched book i found an incorrectly "painted" tetrarch tank on page 42.
Shows authors use same sources all time and dont bother to check them, bovvy tank museum had also incorrectly painted theirs as well.

Don't tease us what is the correct scheme and what are your sources?
