OK, so for the last year or two i've been beavering away with a bit of creative writing, and recently entered an online fan-fic contest.
I won!
So if you're interested in reading a bit of amateur sci-fi fiction by little story is here http://darkreign40k.com/drjoomla/index.php/fan-fiction/calixis-fiction/1308-short-story-contest-spinnakers-landing-winner (http://darkreign40k.com/drjoomla/index.php/fan-fiction/calixis-fiction/1308-short-story-contest-spinnakers-landing-winner)
Feedback (and commissions ;) ) always welcome, as i'm still trying to hone my skills...

Hence the need for feedback... ;)
Well Done!
I have read the first paragraph, and downloaded the PDF for later reading.
If I can get a new iPad2 on Friday then it will be on it for reading!
That's an excellent read, Luddite! Enjoyed it a lot! I'm not a writer, so cannot give any relevant feedback, but I will say that I had the feeling the end was abrupt: I pushed the next button thinking there would be more. I'd definitely like to know what is gonna become of Daniels. and what the shadow hunt did to his sanity and his hunger for freedom...

Aye...it was the format of the contest. 7000 words. the point of the competition was the
location - very difficult to write a story about a place since stories are always about people. So i tried to put in as much as possible from the exaulted hieghts to the grubby depths of this location. So i agree the end clips off a bit. Still...you never know, i might revisit these characters. I've got a major story on the go over at the FFG forums, as well as a bunch of other bits and bobs knocking about.
I really rather enjoy writing...
had a quick blast at it, liked your style :D Will read it properly when I get the chance :D
I'll be giving this a proper read when I get home. I've actually got about 50,000 words on my laptop of a Fantasy novel which I started about 12 years ( :-[) ago...

Then write you must. I once read an interview with Stephen King, and people often ask him " how do I become a writer". His answer was as simple as it was brilliant: "In order to become a writer you have to write".
Well done ;)
Going to read that PDF once the kids are in bed & I've got a nice single malt to go with it :)
