Might have posted this before; sorry if I have.
30 years ago or so I was driving an hour each way 2 or 3 times a week. During that time I listened to the Iliad read by Derek Jacobi. It struck me that the way it was told made it sound like a sporting event; the crowds in the background, waving flags, roaring, etc, but with the main characters that the main story ran with.
A wargaming idea formed, but I never followed up.
A DBA style game.
Heroes are single 25 (now 28) mm figures. Eg, Achilles
Supporting Characters are 15 or 20mm, eg Petroculous.
Then the hordes, a base full of 10mm.
Never really got much past that. Heroes would get multiple hits when fighting another hero:?straight die roll? Highest does 1 hit?
Horde vs hero - something like hero rolls 1 die, any thing but a 1 kills the horde. A 1 does a wound, if he gets 3 wounds before resting then he is dead? Or rolls 3 Dice v 1 for the Horde, 1 higher or equal kills Horde, or they do 1 damage?
Would anyone be interested in a "Hero" game like this? Never going to have the figures, but happily work on the rules with someone.
We did this with 15mm Greeks, 28mm heroes amd 42mm Gods
Ooo, forgot I could have Gods!

;D
You forgot the gods! Oh dear, they won't be happy!
Someone is producing 3d print hods these days, I've seen quite a few around, so you could even scale them up again.
