I am aware, as I get older, that I am a lot less patient. But (leaving the excellent service from Pendraken to one side) I am noticing a trend towards lengthened delivery times, combined with poor or even no communications from some manufacturers.
So ... when do you start nagging & chasing? Also, with a lot of new manufacturers appearing (on tinterweb) when do you start to get nervous that they might have taken your money & done a runner :-\
Example - I put a significant order into a supplier for resin printed 15mm RedCopper figures (Mayans) on 24th April. I recieved an initial acknowledgement & receipt, but radio silence since - despite a chaser email 3 days ago.
Am I being paranoid :(

I chased an order (via Amazon,) yesterday,......because it was supposed to have turned UP yesterday.
Haven't had (didn't get) a reply...But it DID turn up today...so they're forgiven.
What I didn't follow (completely) was when I put the order, I was informed it had been sent just a day after I put the order in......but was due to arrive seven or eight days later.
Must be coming from the EU, thought I....Nope...when it turned up, the return addy was in London.
Figure that one out. :-\

Lengthened delivery seems to run in parallel with kickstarters and 3d printing.
There's no reason why a traditional order should follow the timescales of these digital age methodologies.
But there does appear to be some reversion to the mean going on.
Others would know, maybe the fees for quick parcels have hiked.

No wonder post takes a while when the satnav looks at your postcode and brings up a page that reads "HERE BE DRAGONS!" :d :d :d

I think there's quite a disparity among the 3D companies depending on their size and what they're selling. I've seen large companies completely underestimate demand and find themselves swamped with months' worth of product needing to be printed. And then at the other end I know of some part-time 3D sellers who struggle to fit more than a handful of orders in around their day jobs.
I give suppliers I know 28 days. I then give them a "hows my order going" type email. Give them 2 weeks and if no reply or explanation cancel the order.
If I get back a Sorry we have been busy/had issues i give them another month.
Chase after the length of time stated on their website has expired
If they don't list a normal delivery time spend your money elsewhere

The irony there Mike, is that we seem to be the default delivery address for all of the homes with the same postcode as Techno Towers.
Though it's not as bad as it used to be ! Satnavs must have improved ! ;)
