Going to use off table support for the first time tomorrow.
I am using my DAK, Oct 41 army. (2000 points).
I have bought, 2 FAO, 1 FAC,
2 medium guns, and 1 Stuka 87D.
Firstly, that's all I need to buy?
Secondly, both my FAO and FAC are 8,
for my FAO to fire I am going to need 8 or less?
I am assuming I will be over 20cm,
so that is minus one, but hope to be on a hill,
so that would cancel that out?
Any advice of suggestion's would be appreciated.

Mark will no doubt say different but:
Number of FAO and FAC is fine. Rach FAO can control both batteries but they may only fire one per request
Yes requests are at 8, and not affected by distance, its accuracy is +1 die per 20cm. You can increase the request number by using the recce rules, but not accuracy.

having one FAO per battery is to avoid the minus 1 for firing two batteries?
I assume I have got the correct?
Likewise only having one aircraft for the FAC,
which he can call in once per move?

Bear in mind that each request after 1st is reduced by 1. There is no reduction for 1-3 batteries, 4+ its -1 per battery. programed fire is also very useful (if not cheap). Despite apperances Artillery is very powerful.
I totally agree with what 'Kermit' says here Phil.
As long as you are firing HE only (not Smoke or Illumination), you don't need to buy any additional ammo type assets.
