Title: Plans for 2026 - Our most productive year ever!
Post by: Leon on 17 January 2026, 10:20:51 AM
(https://www.pendraken.co.uk/user/news/thumbnails/Plansfor2026.jpg)

Right then folks, as 2026 is going to be our Most Productive Year EverTM, it's time for a big list of what we're looking to achieve!

Future War Commander 2nd Edition
We can start the new year with a bang, as Future War Commander 2 is now complete and available for pre-order here: https://www.pendraken.co.uk/future-war-commander  The book will be shipping out at the end of this month so get your copy booked now!

10mm Sci-Fi Ranges
With the rules done, one of our first priorities will be getting 3 new alien ranges online, along with a few extra pieces too.

10mm Sci-Fi Additions
And of course you'll need some terrain and scenery items for your tables, so we've got more MDF buildings, some robots, martians, debris, post-apoc vehicles, roaming gangs and more.

10mm TB Line
Our other priority will be getting all of the TB Line Ancients ranges back online finally, along with their Mongol range as well.  These match up very well with our own figures so will provide some nice variation.

10mm Napoleonic Russians
This project won't be completed this year but one of our sculptors will be spending all of 2026 working on the Nap Russians.  The first batch are complete and you can take a look at those here: https://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,24056.0.html  We'll be launching these through a not-Kickstarter method, which should be live in March/April.

10mm Modern Vehicles
We've got T-72s and a handful of new trucks, so these will be appearing very soon.

Those are our urgent jobs, as folks have been waiting on those for a while.  Now we can get to the other new stuff that we may or may not have announced previously!

10mm Historials

Revamped Ancient Indians - These have been sculpted by Techno and will be heading up to Pendraken HQ soon.

New Macedonian Greeks - It seemed sensible to get these done alongside the above, so we'll have those here soon too.

Napoleonic Austrian Wurst gun - Just about done, just needs a final mould.

Men-in-a-Trench - This will be a two-part job, with a modular resin trench piece and then various torsos to plug in to it.

Vietnam Huey - We've had the chopper converted to an open-door version so we just need to get some door gunners sculpted.

Street Furniture - We've got all sorts of scenery items for your urban tables, including lights, benches, signposts, letterboxes and more.

Maus/Ratte - Historical-ish!  We'll be producing these two concept tanks in resin as part of a post-WWII What-If project we're planning.  There's also a metal KV-5 knocking about somewhere.

10mm-12mm Fantasy

Ratmen - Full new range, sculpting in progress.

Amazons - Full new range, sculpting in progress.

Halflings - Small range, sculpting complete.

Balori - Small range, sculpting in progress.

Revamped Dungeons - New modular dungeon pieces, new furniture items, and the relaunch of our Dungeon Sets, along with a new edition of the Dungeon World rules.

Misc - We've also got an assortment of other additions planned here, including dragons, yetis, flying lizards, treemen, golems, plagued villagers, campfires and other scenery.

Resin

Our new resin room is going to be seeing a lot of use!  In the pipeline here we've got:

Ironclad Miniatures - We've got all 400+ Ironclad products to get back into production, so those will be appearing in mid-February hopefully.  We've hired two new members of staff who will be taking the lead on all of our resin products, so we should be able to hit the ground running here.

10mm Urban Scenery - Similar to the metal items above, we've got sheds, phone boxes, skips and more.

10mm Sci-Fi Scenery - Boxes, crates, etc to add to your Future War tables.

10mm Tents - Various new tents to add to the current ranges.

10mm Japanese scenery - Finishing off the relaunch of the Castle Arts products, including that massive castle!

10mm WWI Trench system - A full modular trench system for the Great War.

10mm Vietnam scenery - Houses, trenches, pits and firebase to come here.

10mm North Africa scenery - Lots of different adobe-style buildings plus some extra scenery bits.

10mm Korean buildings - Not made yet, but on the worktable.

10mm WWII Armoured train - Made and moulded, just needs prepping for release.

6mm Monorail train - To go with our 6mm MDF rails.

6mm ACW Ironclads - We've only had these for about 20 years, so it's probably time to get them out there!

And finally we've got a bunch of stuff that we'll just call 'Elsewhere':

More Red Vectors buildings
We've got Wild West, WWII, Sci-Fi and more planned for our MDF ranges.

Cold War Commander lists
The Cold War Commander army lists should be hitting the Army Builder imminently.

28mm Personalities
Clib started sculpting these almost 10 years ago now and they've just languished in a master mould ever since.  We'll get them sorted and available very soon.

28mm Militia Miniatures
We're going to revamp these slightly with more robust weapons, as the barrels on some of the guns were a nightmare to cast.

And that's it I think!  I'm sure there'll be something I've overlooked in that lot, but there's certainly enough there to keep everyone busy!

And don't forget that the Painting Competition will be running next month, so make sure to get your entries prepped in time.

No chance of the FV432 variant with the 30mm RARDEN - from the Fox scout car - turret appearing then?

"Halflings - Small range" how could it be anything else

The men in a trench idea is a good one. Years ago I went about this with my Argentinean sculpts, an x-acto blade, and some green stuff.

I've had a lie down, and a think.

Having divided this list between "definitely will", "maybe will", "maybe won't" and "definitely won't", that's just 4 new projects,  maybe an upgrade to the Napoleonic Russians and some bits and pieces.

I am intrigued as to what the "28mm Personalities" will be. "Napoleon"? "Conan"? "Lil, the Apple Picker"?

These are sets of historical 'rivals' so we had Caesar vs Vercingetorix, Richard I vs Saladin, Billy the Kid vs Pat Garrett, that kind of thing.  I think we had 8 pairs done with a load more planned, but they just got sidelined as we needed to focus on our main 10mm releases.

Well going off this I'll never be rich but I will be occupied!
I think I might be most interested in the street clutter and scene bits though. A good table often has more uses than one good army.

That said, Amazons do appeal. Are they going to be more "leopard skin wearing cave man" style or mirrored Greeks?

A long time but it's always been put behind the core Naps expansions that we needed to do.  We have explored some digital sculpts for it though, which might be something we follow up on later this year.

Ah!  The rivalry of Lil the Apple Picker and Double Top Debbie was legendary in some quarters. Lil lead the "Flighty Girls" darts team, which did really well. She got her nickname for calling the green bull "The apple" her speciality was finishing with a bull. She was a legend at the Stoat and Muffin when I was younger, until Debbie arrived with the "Shaft Sisters". Her speciality was double 20.

The rivalry grew until the fateful night when Debbie dared to announce she was calling the apple. Well, Lil was not best pleased that her pet phrase was being usurped, and when Debbie went to the loo, Lil followed her. There was some screaming and some thumping, but they came out of the ladies with matters apparently settled amicably.

Last I heard they had moved away and set up a craft shop together in Stevenage.

Or was it Swansea?

Looking at the many 28mm 3D offerings available these days it would seem the wisdom of the crowds is that Amazon cavalry not mounted on horses ride great cats rather than camels. Lionesses and outsized panthers mainly. And the odd dinosaur raptor.

Maus/Ratte - Historical-ish!  We'll be producing these two concept tanks in resin as part of a post-WWII What-If project we're planning.  There's also a metal KV-5 knocking about somewhere

Does that mean we might get a T44 model? Its a perfect tank for immediate post war what if Soviets

Possibly circa 1800 but  the Soviets were very secretive about is so who definitively knows?

I just think its a really  good looking tank.

No idea at the moment, we've got the other stuff already moulded so we'll get those into production first and then we can see what else is needed.  There's also the T28 for the Americans, and the Black Prince for the Brits.

I know you have done the cleanup on the TB Line Mongols (and also the Islamic) ranges? The Islamic range has a whole range of camel riders with bows and spears.

Not sure that Amazons on camels feels quite right to me. But I commend Ithoriel on his extensive research on Amazon cavalry.

QuoteWhat I DO find irritating, is getting an instrumental snippet of a song stuck in my head...and then not being able to recognize it....until about 5 hours later.

Oh, gods! I know that one!

Also remembering one line from a song lyric and not being able to remember/ find on the internet the song title or full lyrics. Usually because I have one word wrong in the lyrics I "remember."

I find that when I listen to the antidote to panel shows and they do the "one song to the tune of another" round, I will, for days sing ... one song to the tune of another.

Oh dear. Helion are releasing on 21st January a book about Ptolemaic Egypt. Now, I don't get excited by the Alexandrian Macedonians, I could be persuaded by something slightly less mainstream. How compatible will Pendraken's range be with the Egyptian? Who knows?

Leon probably.

Ptolomaic armies are basically Successor armies (Pike, skirmishers, cavalry, elephants) with the added option of native Egyptian Machimoi who seem to have been armed and armoured in a similar fashion to Republican Roman legionaries.

Machimoi seem to have been regarded as lesser quality than the Macedonian troops.

Shouldn't be a problem to assemble a force from the Pendraken options.

Can someone get her some shoes and trousers!
I am more intrigued as to how she put on a seeming one piece leotard with a tail. Some real contortionism going on there.  :D

One of the club members was complaining  about models of nude Gallic fanatics on the wargames table- said  he  expects trousers as a minimum. It kind of begged a response

Yes, that's what worries me.

One glossy book and I can be greatly led astray.  :(

Got to be honest Nobby, given the evidence of previous behavioural patterns, I'm not sure it even has to be that glossy...

...or more than a pamphlet...  ;)

Finished medieval Indian & Moghul armies last year - mostly using either Ancient figures or Colonial era ones. Luckily I'm not too fussy because some stretched the bounds of reality a bit. Now the range gets a revamp just when I've finished.

Lucky that I have tons of 10mm stuff to paint and most of the new stuff doesn't need flags so no (well, not much) new stuff for me this year.

PS : AWI flags coming soonish

The chap on the cover looks like a typical Hastati, or Hannibalic Veteran.

Yes, the similarity between Punic War infantry and Ptolemaic later troops (or even most so called 'imitation' legionaries) is very close.
The cover illustration looks to be based on a number of well known grave images from the Levant (particularly modern-day Israel) which shows this type of equipment. Many were originally brightly painted, when first unearthed and hence we know what the range of tunic colours were. These seem to be very variable, but it's not clear whether they varied by individual (creating a multi-colored effect in a unit) or by unit/formation (as a kind of uniform).
This book expands upon the (now sadly unavailable but very good & very expensive - if you can track down a copy for sale) Nik Secunda Montvert book(s) on the Seleucid and Ptolemaic reforms, in the face of their experiences engaging with the Romans.
