Title: African/Talaban Militia Armies
Post by: far4ngn on 05 January 2026, 07:02:46 PM
Any chance of some African/Talaban Militia armies to use AK47 rules in 10mm, there are figures in the WW1 East African range ranges but need some with some modern weapons, rocket launches etc.

Plus an opportunity to model the good old Toyota Hilux and use some beret wearing figures with SLR for mercenaries.

Great idea - and lots of things they can be used for

Very good timing - I'm currently building a couple of 10mm armies for AK47 and managed to find some great figures for militia with modern weapons and some Toyotas to go with them...    :D

Apologies to Pendraken but these are from Red3 Miniatures (listed under 'Other Nations').   Lovely figures that paint up well.   The Toyotas are particularly nice.

For beret wearing chaps, I used Pendraken (Korean War British Commandos).   Great figures and, again, paint up well.

I've painted up the first batch of militia and Toyotas and will try to take a couple of pics.

Very nice, what size bases did you use for the infantry?

I use 30mm round mdf bases for standard infantry and a variety of different 30mm shapes to distinguish specialist weapons (square for RPG, hexagon for HMG, rectangular for mortars).   Seem to fit 2-3 x 10mm figures nicely.

I've also tried to distinguish the professionals (red berets) and the regulars (green helmets).   I found the Egyptians (Arab-Israeli range) work well for the Regulars.

Cheers,
