As we're taking a year off from the UK shows we thought it might be a nice opportunity for us to head somewhere a little different instead... So, we're delighted to announce that we'll be attending Cold Wars in the USA, on Feb 5th - 8th, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania!
We'll be there mainly to meet some of our US customers, so we won't be bringing a proper Pendraken stand. We will be able to bring pre-orders though, so if any US folks would like to save the shipping costs on a regular order, you can now place orders and select the 'Collect at Cold Wars '26' shipping option (the 10% tariff will still apply).
Whilst we're in the States we're hoping to do a whole host of other things, including a tour of Gettysburg and visiting the Little Wars TV guys.
So, hopefully we'll see a few of you there!
Enoy your trip :) !
Awesome plan. Have a great trip
Cool trip!
Your luggage could be interesting if you end up taking a lot of orders over!
Yes watch the baggage excess
Have a great time and send photos.
Pennsylvania is Little Wars TV country.
I hope you'll take the opportunity to meet up with them.
I will be attending this and look forward to seeing Leon and company again.
Old expedition climbing tip, don't put the heavy things in your suitcase. Save it for your cabin bag.😉
Could be amusing putting it through the x-ray scanners.
Enjoy!
Just checking - You have checked the whole 'take it in your luggage' situation? (I'm sure you have).

Its not unusual to have your cabin bag weighed nowdays. If your cases are alreasdy up to weight or gone through baggage drop you re left with two options, Leave something behind or pay the extortionate excess baggage fee, and quite possibly have to check it into the hold
I think that Pendraken should reclaim America as a colony. :)

Great news! I'll be there and look forward to meeting you.
I'll be there most of Friday. Would be nice to meet you in person!

Excellent, good to know we'll have some familiar folks around!

On the pre-orders, we'll be shipping all of those in advance, to either the hotel or the show venue. It's too much faff and potential hassle to take them with us on the plane, and I'm not sure how we'd pay the tariffs when bringing physical goods through customs. Best to send them ahead and know that everything is dealt with safely.

I can see the T shirt slogan in my head :D
I can't believe you're giving up on a damp November day in Farnborough for this malarkey ;)

US could ask foreign tourists for five-year social media history before entry (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1dz0g2ykpeo).
That little quip has now probably made me
persona non grata over the pond :(
Does this count as social media?
That social media article is just another nail in the coffin for the American tourist industry, ditto business travellers etc. But I wonder, how the hell could you check through 5-10 years worth of posts etc?
Does this put AI bots in charge of US immigration policy?

CIA agents will be all over you like Castro.

They have friends inside Cambridge Analytica.
AI might be dreadful at drawing hands.
It's far better at keyword searches through warehouse-fulls of text.

Yes it does and I'm grassin' all y'all!
I suppose I am screwed because Harry Turledove gave me a like on Blue Sky for describing Trump as the Orange Sh*t Gibbon
Andrew Tate will be OK though
Likely Blue Sky is flying under the radar.

Somewhere in their is a Bonnie Blue joke
Not only is Bonnie Blue flying under the radar, she's flying over and through whilst decorating it with beads and bangles.
I barely use my personal social media anyway, so I think I'll be OK there. It's usually just an update on my garden progress a couple of times each year.
They didn't ask for any social media tags/info when we applied for the ESTAs, so the only other opportunity to check it would be when we arrive I guess, which would be a logistical nightmare. So I'd assume it'll be a random check kinda situation, similar to random baggage or ID checks.
Leon - adding it to ESTA is just a proposal and it has to go through rules making and public comment (and likely other hurdles besides). We live in a world of headlines and the best headline wins.
Hi
Just wondering if Mr Trump's latest announcement regarding tariffs will affect your trip to the USA? :-\
Cheers Paul

It shouldn't do, our pre-orders will be sent over ahead of the additional tariffs being applied so those should arrive without any hassles.
Maybe The Dark Lord's random sleep pattern mean jetlag will not be an issue to him?
So, Leon, did you manage to retake the colonies for the King? How was it?
Cheers Paul

It's been fine here in the US, but I imagine it'll be a little out of whack when we get back!

It's been fantastic, really enjoyed it! We're just in Philadelphia airport at the moment waiting for our flight back to the UK.

I once spent 2 months in the States doing a 'grand tour' and on return it took weeks and weeks to get back to a normal sleeping schedule.
