We spoke briefly at COLOURS regarding additional status markers for use with the Fire & Fury ACW rule set. Looking at the wide selection of figures in the ACW range, some markers are provided for already and, with one exception, I don't think that new sculpts would be needed.
Those which currently exist are:
Horse-holders
ACW33 Union Horse holders
ACW34 Confederate Horse holders
ACW35 Standing Horses
Limbers
ACW65 Limber with Team/Outriders
Disorder/silenced
ACW45 Union Foot Casualties
ACW46 Confederate Foot Casualties
ACW47 Union Cavalry Casualties
ACW48 Confederate Cavalry Casualties
Those where suitable castings currently exist are:
Low on ammunition
ACW3 Loading figure from Union Foot, firing, type 1
ACW9 Loading figure from Confederate Foot, firing, type 1
Breakthrough
ACW16 Officer from Confederate Foot Command, advancing
You probably wouldn't need both ACW3 and ACW9 castings as Low on Ammunition; I bought some of the ACW3 castings as additional figures and painted them for either side. Similarly for Breakthough, I bought some additional castings of the Officer figure and painted them as both Union and Confederate. These could be offered as packs of 5 or 10 and priced accordingly.
Those where suitable castings do not currently exist are:
Damaged Battery
Players are likely to need only a few of these and I can't image that trying to provide a suitable model would be at all viable. I intend to use one or two packs of ACW50 12pdr Napoleon and distress appropriately. Not including a casualty figure will allow them to be used for either side.
Low on ammunition
There is no suitable casting that could represent an Artillery ammunition box. Whilst scratchbuilding a few crates should not be too difficult, I cannot but feel that such a Miscellaneous item could be useful over a number of different 19th and early 20th Centuries ranges.
GHQ has limber boxes that I use for the marker along with one of the Pendraken walking crew from the artillery.
I presume you've already discounted

Boxes and sacks (10)
as unsuitable?

I can't think how I missed those. The crates look very suitable and the sacks will be useful when I get around to building my windmill.
What about SCN-GEN3 piles of cannon balls for low on ammo?
