Title: All three days of Gettysburg
Post by: Chris Pringle on 26 September 2025, 09:35:07 AM
I don't know how many times I've played this now but it's a classic for a reason. Yet again it produced a nailbiter decided by the final assault on the final turn. AAR here:

In my experience, most assaults on the final turn are final assaults.

Multiple assaults made in the last turn, the last of which decides the outcome of the battle. Final assault in the final turn. QED

Au contraire, only the last one is. All the rest are not. The one before it is the penultimate assault, if that's any good to you?

Exactly. Thank you.

Thanks, chaps. Yes, I got an uncharacteristically long thankyou message from Dave, so he evidently had a great time. As for me, I was on a bit of a high for days too (though that may have been Dave's hospitality).

With 10 or 12 units a side, it's not that hard to have 2 or 3 assaults going in each turn.
But no worries, I appreciate a bit of sardonic comment, so keep 'em coming, FK!
