We've been enjoying the current women's rugby World cup,as from the matches we've seen, they're a lot more fluid and plenty of open play, which makes for great games to watch. Also at the end of some of the games (USA/Samoa & New Zealand/South Africa) they've all celebrated together.
Certainly makes for better viewing than the All Blacks game against South Africa here in Wellington last night.
The AB's did not have a good night and ended up losing 43-10, a record margin against the Springboks :-[
Major international sporting event being held in Bristol, so of course the weather is terrible.
Normally it's a cricket T20 or ODI. Pretty much guarantee that any such game scheduled will be rain affected.
Today it's the England vs. Scotland semi-final.
Most games have been far too one-sided for me to find enjoyable. Before the competition even started you knew it was going to be England vs. either Canada or New Zealand in the final. (My money's on the Black Ferns).
Ireland vs. France earlier was tight though.
I've really enjoyed the tournament so far.
Yes, there have been a lot of one-sided games - but the overall enthusiasm has been so high, and the skill levels and willingness to play makes it a very different game to the rather stodgy mens game.
Couple of surprises into the last 16 but semi-finals are exactly to the form book - and really will be were the tough games now are.
Canada vs NZ could be a very tight game. I think England will steamroller France.
Well, well, surprise (to me) result! Well done Canada.
That is, as far as I can see, only the 2nd time New Zealand have lost a match in the entire history of the women's tournament.
