Hi to all,
yesterday I had a game where I tested the CP from the optional rules and the scheduled barrage.
Here are the questions:
1. The CP is missing the HIT value. I used 4 as for the HQ. Is it fine?
2. Yesterday barrage was of 2 artillery unit of the same caliber. So it was easy to determine the attack value in the barrage zone (3+3)=6:2=3. If we use artillery units with different attack value, how do you determine the attack value in the barrage zone? Do you round up or down the resulting number? The same can happen with the unsaved hits on the unit in the barrage zone, as the final unsaved hits that is affecting the target unit are the 50% of the unsaved ones. The problem comes anytime you have an odd number, do you round up or down? For example, 50% of 3 is 1,5 do you asses 1 or 2 hits? What about a single hit, 50% of 1 is 0,5? It's a miss or a hit?
Overall, there is any consistency, through the rules or widely agreed in the game community, about rounding up or down?

Sorry - what do you mean by CP?
Thanks
Mark
Hi Mark,
I'm asking about Command Posts (CP), proposed at page 5 in the "Weather, Terrain and Night Fighting" optional rules.
The Command Post boosters the CV of the others Command units in certain circumstances.
Does have a Command Post (CP) a hits value as the other Command units?
Best regards,
Fabio
Ah ... OK ... understand now:
A Command Post has the same Hits value as an HQ. We'll rectify the Optional Rule to clarify this, in the next Errata update.
With a mixed calibre Artillery Barrage (P.54) total all the attacks from all the guns and then divide by the number of guns (as a general rule in CWC - you always round down, unless specified otherwise).
So if you have 3 guns with an AT of 3 and 2 guns with an AT of 4 - so a total of 5 guns @ 17 attack, you divide 5 into 17 which gives you 3.4 (rounded down to 3). So unless your heavier guns outnumber your lighter ones, you'll usually get a poorer effect for them (if that makes sense?
The same applies to unsaved hits, always round down, as a Barrage is generally less accurate than a concentration.
Cheers
Mark
