We've been focused on the lists required for our current ranges but there's also a list of the planned future lists too, at the bottom below.
There is also a Random Points Modifier available which allows you to adjusts the points available to a battlegroup based on historical factors, to give a more realistic pair of opposing forces. Some of the army lists give Special Rules to help/hinder your forces when using this Modifier.

Absolutely and also this is not helped by inaccurate or 'nationalistically' biased information on the web.
Even something supposedly simple - such as what AT weapons were used by the Irish Armed forces between 1946-1990 can be a 'mine-field' of misunderstanding - when a Carl Gustav is (rightly or wrongly) described as an 84mm recoilless gun :'( (& that is in the official Armed Forces website).

They are outside the remit I have set myself for CWCII. So it wont be me doing them.
TBVF I also have enough on my plate with the remaining 1946-1990 lists (+ new FWCII lists), but if somebody else wants to do all the research and send it in, we can look at adding it to the back end of the list.

This was before I owned a copy of the rules.
The GM used Monitor transports for the Americans.
Can you tell me if this is an official unit or possibly home grown?

I need to check (& don't have access to the Army List PDF's at present), but I think that there are stats in the US Vietnam list (or maybe the French Indo-china list) for riverboats and mortars, for the US forces in Vietnam. They wont be in the main US list.
But basically they are standard on-table 81mm mortar (so you use those stats) - they have the same range and effect. They can be commanded in by any US HQ on a LOF basis or shoot themselves on a LoS basis. The riverboats are classified as Independent units and as fully Stabilized - so in effect the mortars can move and fire but with a penalty (whilst on the boat). They don't fire template rounds as they are on table, but can fire HE & Smoke (if Smoke ammo was bought). So nothing particularly special :D
If I remember correctly the mortar might be a unit Upgrade or a replacement for the dual .50cal AA gun (but not 100% sure).

NB: Late war WW2 Soviets had river 'monitors' at Stalingrad - armoured and armed with a T34 turret and a Katyshka battery + a host of AA guns :o
The American Vietnam list has a PBR, a much smaller boat.
I watched a couple of videos.
The monitors were a larger better protected boat. They carried a variety of ordinance including machine guns and flame throwers. They were also capable of troop transport.
I would include a link but that never works for me.
There were also command and helicopter carrier monitors!

NB: it's a bit like all the various hovercrafts that the US Marine Corps and Soviets had during the Cold War - it's almost a major list in its own right doing them all and where do you stop :-\ Inshore patrol boats or E-boats or minisubs in BKCIV ... there has to be an end point (there just has to be!!! :) )

Yes (thought about it and discarded it) - that's not something we will be doing. We deliberately chose to stop CWC at the last Gulf War, as that is were the original CWCI lists had got to.
Personally, I'd prefer to have the CWC lists deliberately stop with the fall of Soviet Communism.
If you want drones, FWC covers that very nicely, but 'the management' are agreed that 'Modern Warfare Rules' are not something we are interested in developing. TBF even the Gulf War is a little to close to home as it is.

FWC is for Sci-Fi. But it has all the capability to replicate drone warfare, which is where modern combat is heading.
We mucked about playtesting all sorts of complex rules to replicate drones for FWC, but in the end came to view that they were mostly just replicating targetted air or artillery strikes, as they worked in the rules anyway.
Your challenge is that current drones are (for the most part) either:
A) recce drone (& they are adequately covered by existing mechanisms)
B ) off table launched self-guided munitions, so no different from air or artillery strikes
C) off table launched, off-table guided, munitions. In many ways this makes them less accurate than on-table FAO/FAC guided off-table assets (air or artillery strikes).
Also, at the level CWC is played at, individual drones attacking individual AFVs is out of scope.
You could create a single shot, off-table weapon, with the ability to only hit a single on-table AFV (so not templated fire) with it hitting on a 4+ in open or 5+ in low area cover and unable to target units in high or hard cover, if you wanted to go there. But how you guide & command it, subject it to counter-measures etc. Is a whole other kettle of fish.
But as I say, it is 'the companies' policy not to create a set of 'Modern Warfare' rules or even a CWC upgrade supplement to do so. It's a principle thing.

We are planning a game next year based on the Dragon Strike book, featuring China vs the rest of Asia Pacific - I think: not actually read the book yet - that will be set in 2001. That's really going to stretch the CWC rules. We'll have to use the EW rules, possibly port in the version from FWC2. We'll need to think about aircraft using ATGMs, as even by the Gulf War 75% of CAS attacks were fighters armed with Maverick, possibly recce drones and we may borrow Stealth rules from FWC2.
I think that if there was to be a Modern War Commander, CWC Redux or CWC: New World Order (I haven't spent far too long thinking about possible names, honest), with the potential for the likes of T-55s to be on the same battlefield as the latest Abrams, Leopard 2A7, T-90 etc. we would probably have to switch to rolls to hit and saves using 2D6, D10 or D12. That would require substantial rework of the rules, a lot of playtesting and considerable research into different weapon capabilities. That will take time and motivation, precious resources nowadays.
It was said quite recently that there's no interest in producing such a thing.

That's already covered in the rules, as PGM, page 29. Just allow more of them. Aircraft cannot use ATGW unless they are as slow as helicopters.
I'd treat recce drones as spotter helicopters that for some have to follow a pre-designated flight path, but you don't suffer any morale loss if they are shot down, ie their loss doesn't add to breakpoint.
For Electronic Warfare, I have the following rule.
Your CO can issue an EW action once a turn if so equipped. You select ESM (electronic surveillance measures) or ECM (electronic counter-measures).
Roll against your CO CV, a successful roll for ESM detects the location of the enemy CO, which you can then call artillery or aircraft attacks on. A successful ECM roll reduces your enemy CO or a HQ you choose to target by CV by 2 for the rest of the turn.
Using ECM however gives away the position of the jammer to enemy ESM units. Which if your jammer is a truck located next to your CO, could be trouble. If it is an off-table EA-6B Prowler or Mil-9 helicopter, then knowing where it is isn't much help.
If you are thinking of lower level ECM, eg IED jammers, then use the booby trap rules for IEDs, but any IED jammer equipped vehicle gets a saving roll against the booby trap, a successful CV roll against the CV of the target vehicle unit means the IED fails to go off or is exploded before the vehicle gets to it.
For most 21st century warfare, much of the CWC rules can be adapted, especially if you base them around the 2D6 of the CV values. However CWC has indeed run out of wriggle room for saving rolls based on 1D6 for the armour combat, so any post cold war iteration would indeed have to be a different system.
What you could do though as a house set of rules is attach the CWC command system and add it to any other set of more appropriate 21st Century combat rules, if there are any.
As all the wars since 2002 have shown, modelling platoons as your basic unit is no longer relevant, as combat is between individual tanks and sections, with platoons spread out over large distances, mostly hiding from drones.

That was my point though. It would take a lot of work to do it properly and if the motivation and interest isn't there, there's no point in starting.
I'll have to read up on the PGM rules. We tend not to use the special munitions much so I shall do my homework.
So much of EW seems to be air to air combat so would that need to be incorporated into the game? I shall do some more research.
Devolving Modern War Commander down to 1 unit = 1 section or vehicle is a good shout. That is absolutely the level it should be based on. :-\
I think that I am like most wargamers in that I am good at making plans and having ambitions but less good at putting these plans into action. I've got all the tools to House Rule a modern version of CWC but I'll probably never get round to doing it.

Looking at the Dutch list, the BV206S has the same stats as the BV202N/206N,but is unarmed and 20pts cheaper. From what I can see, the 206S is armoured to small arms & shrapnel level and can be armed. Can I suggest that the BV206S should be armed with the same stats as the BV202N and have a saving throw of 6+, same as most APCs? With a points value increase to 45pts?
