Post by: Duke Speedy of Leighton on 10 August 2025, 09:14:25 AM
Last week's trip to York with the family saw us visit the Yorkshire Air Museum
A worthy museum indeed

Quick check: you've got a photo labelled as a Horsa. It's a Waco Hadrian isn't it?

Looked like a great place.
You should try to get to Eden Camp. Great Museum.

A second vote for Eden Camp!

Long time since I've been at the Air Museum but I have fond memories.

Have fond memories of airshows at Elvington. Swordfish, Mosquito, B25J Mitchell, all flying.
One of the best was a Harrier display near the end of their career; the sky was growing darker and darker with heavy rain clouds - the Harriers did their display, and just as they finished, the skies emptied like a bombing run of rain and the crowd ran from the flightline to the marquees and musuem for shelter!
