Title: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NOBBY !
Post by: Techno 3 on 27 July 2025, 07:28:15 AM
(To the tune of the 9th  track on Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Heats Club Band...or go to the last line
....It's a bit of a giveaway. :P )

One more year older,
What can we say ?
Runcorn's favourite son.
Sits there waiting patiently the postman's knock,
Box or package....all Leon's stock.

Moving the soldiers,
Rolling the dice,
Who could ask for more?
Brenda's awaiting,
Or maybe some painting ?
NOBBY'S SIXTY FOUR>

(Happy birthday, Matey.....The above would have gone much better if Maxwell's Silver Hammer hadn't been an earworm while I was trying to write !!...Have great day,
Phil. :-bd  <:-P  :-bd  <:-P  :-bd )

Happy Birthday, Young 'un!

Congratulations on another successful orbit of the local stellar object!

Here's to many more.

Then 'ere's to the fellow at Runcorn,
An' 'ere's to the limbers an' guns,
The men an' the 'orses
What makes up the forces
Of which FSN surely has tons.  :)

Happy Birthday, matey.

Sorry, Nobby has a birthday? He was born, like a real person? Not manufactured from spares?  :o

Happy Birthday!

Indeed. After she wished under a waning moon, and buried a lock of her hair on a stream bank, my mother found me under the rhubarb where the white pony showed her I would be.

Manufactured from spares! Sheesh!

Happy, happy FSN.

So what have I been doing today?

Well, I made a Peel tower out of a toothbrush holder (£2.50 from B&M) and a tissue box (and a couple of buildings from Pendraken)
(https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54682295798_d83f7b0286.jpg) (https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/54682295319_52ee6ccd78.jpg)
... and yes, I did forget to put a gate in the wall.

Today was also the culmination of a three day experiment. I use Dettol to remove acrylic paint from less than successful projects. I wondered if dunking in Dettol would have an adverse effect on various forms of modelling materials. Thus, I took four modelling materials, suitably hardened. I cut them in half and painted one sample of each. I then put the eight pieces in separate cells and poured an equal amount of Dettol on each. I then left them for 3 days after which I washed them in warm water.

Results. My kitchen smells of Dettol, but the putties were not affected by their immersion.

Now we all know.

You're welcome.
