I'm just 'playing' with a Malayan Emergency list, for CWCII, and came across this interesting PDF online:
https://www.army.mod.uk/media/6558/bar-report-malayan-emergency.pdf
Can anybody hazard a guess at what the armoured vehicle is on page 48 (apologies I am useless at posting photos or I'd have snippy'ed & posted it here.
I think it is a White Armoured Car, but I'm very happy to be corrected.
The fact that the British are using Humbers, Daimlers and Ferrets is interesting enough, but it looks like this 'unknown' vehicle is being used by the Malay Police (which makes it of particular interest).
Many thanks

Looks like an M3 "White" Scout Car to me... But also has enough differences to be something completely different!

That's the one (thank you). And an M3 'White' Scout Car was one of my original thoughts as well.
But others might know different.

Right-hand drive being the obvious one!

Yes :) obvious when you say it ;D
Could be an early Humber Pig, open topped for ventilation. The Pigs and Scarcens were rushed forward due to need for APCs. The other possibility would be the Canadian armoured 1 Tonner from 44/5 bt not sure about that. What ever it is in CWC terms its 3 Hits, 6 to save, 1 base load.
C15TA Canadian armoured truck - I think!

Brilliant! That is it.
I had thought it might be some Dutch 'thing' left over from WWII, but this definitely fits the bill.
Ideal for running the Malayan Police contingent around in.
CWCII STATS: C15TA Canadian Armoured Truck |15pts|APC|20|1/30#|-|3|6|-/-|Exposed Transport(1) [# = Bren gun from squad]
For those that are interested, at the end of the BAR PDF report is a really good analysis around why the British succeeded in containing the insurgency (although it took some time).
Also, I was also unaware that British & Commonwealth forces also used 'Agent Orange', admittedly in a very limited fashion (sprayed from bowsers around bases and up-country forts) and that the military had a very 'dim' view of aerial bombing - which was virtually suspended, from early on in the campaign - as being counter-productive.
Looking at the 3 major Indo-china campaigns (Malaya, French Indo-china and Vietnam) you can see how the differences in approach (politically and militarily) led to the different outcomes. I'm not saying the British approach was right, but it certainly ended up with what was probably the better long-term outcome.
Thanks for your help folks

I'm using Chrome. If you right click on the image and search with google lens it comes back with:
This image captures Malayan police in a C15TA armoured truck during a jungle patrol in 1952.
Vehicle:
The vehicle is a C15TA Armoured Truck, a Canadian-built armoured load carrier developed from the Otter light reconnaissance car.
Context:
The patrol took place during the Malayan Emergency, a period of guerrilla warfare between the Malayan government and the Malayan Communist Party.
Purpose:
These patrols were essential for security in the isolated jungle roads, where ambushes were a common occurrence.
Use:
The C15TA was used by British and Canadian units during the Northwest European campaign and by some British units in the Far East, including the 5th Parachute Brigade.
Very helpful. Thankyou.
There is also a picture of what looks like a US Dodge truck being used in a 25 prd battery as the command vehicle.
And apparently the Queen's Own Gurhka Engineers were using 'Wasps' to flush out bunkers & clear dense
jungle.
So lots of nice toys to play with.
Inspired by the BKCIV desert game, I can feel a bit of jungle actuin coming on :-\
