Title: War of the Ring in 10mm
Post by: BlackEd on 04 March 2011, 05:11:19 PM
OK, everyone, get your bricks handy so you can throw them at me.

I love the Warmaster rules put out by Games Workshop.

It turns out that I also love the War of the Ring rules that GW produced.  However, the problem that I have with WotR is that an 8'x4' table gets awfully crowded.  Possible solution: use 10mm figures, and measure in centimeters instead of inches.

Is anyone else interested in this idea?

Despite being a huge Tolkien fan, I've not seen these particular rules ........ not that that matters. 10mm is perfect for large scale battles of any type, so certainly for War of the Ring.

I have converted scale from inches to cm with good effect with other rules for use with smaller scale miniatures in the past, so it should work fine.

Cheers,

Kev

One of the reasons why my Rohirrim army in 28mm is going the journey so that I can  redo it in 10mm  :D. I do like Warmaster too, havent had a game for years and years. THe other option I was thinking of was DBM, but to be honest this is sometime in the  future as I have bucketloads to do before then. so fear not my brick is firmly behind my back  :D
