Title: A few 1914 reinforcements
Post by: pierre the shy on 19 June 2025, 10:24:48 PM
Finished 8 bases of 1914 stuff for the BEF after finding a few extras were (purhaps) needed following our last ITLSU game.

4 generic limbers for RHA/RFA guns, each with 6 horse teams (had few suitable spare horses "lying around" from previous orders) and a 18 pdr battery of 3 stands plus command stand.

Thanks to Paul R for painting most of the figures.

Pictures you ask? well maybe when we get a decent day to take them, but the next two days are not looking too good.

A grey day here today, still not suitable for taking decent pictures, but I have been motivated to add a recently painted batch of ammo and equipment boxes to my new and existing WW1 artillery bases (catalouge numbers GRX 10 and GRX 12 if you want to be technical).

Also added a few tufts of gamers grass tussock of various colours and sizes to them and some command bases to break up the somewhat "golf green" look a bit of the very fine flock that I used for them quite a few years ago now.

The results are worth the small effort involved, even if I say so myself.

The weather is much better today so I took some pics and posted a brief report onto my underused blog here:

Thanks for looking. I hope you like them, pretty pleased how they have turned out myself.
