Devizes and District Wargames Group (http://www.ddwg.org.uk) will be running two participation games at the Army Flying Museum (https://www.armyflying.com/) on Sat 24 May 2025, including 10mm Cold War Commander. This will see a Soviet Air Asslt Bde carry out a heliborne air assault v Brit Mech BG defending a bridge over the Leine River, W Germany in 1985. We hope to be located in the main display hall near the Cold War era helicopters!
The event is being organised by Company of Makers (https://www.companyofmakers.com/), which supports military veterans who are struggling on civvy street, no matter how long ago they left the Armed Forces. They provide support through a series of Podcasts, Online Talks & Workshops and 'Get in the Game' Wargaming events.
Entry to the event on 24th May is free if you register beforehand, which includes free access to the Army Flying Museum for the day. Register for the event and get your free tickets on EventBrite (https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/get-in-the-game-tabletop-wargaming-at-the-army-flying-museum-tickets-1317250605019?aff=ebdsoporgprofile&fbclid=IwY2xjawJzUhZleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHg0oyUYgeymeV0VljpRKccMxlyYulgFxoxFAqVUD0lMDgrZhLA0X-6NgTrzt_aem_cQ06chI5KO_4WelfvmZkEA). Company of Makers produced a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByJH8mlayXA&feature=youtu.be) at the gaming event they held at the AFM last year. Also see their website (above) for more info about what they do.
It would be great if some members of this forum were able to come along to the event
