I've painted my Fantasy Orcs Brown, Tan etc and want to give them a green hue, what the best way to add the green.
I've used watered dow ink and Opaque, but I cannot get it right...so any ideas please?
Do you have a picture illustrating the look you're aiming for?
It's difficult to comment without this.
A dip or wash will tend to collect in the hollows of any model.
So a green dip on brown base will retain a brown surface with green patches around eyes, mouth, between fingers...
I seldom use washes other than in terrain pieces, but I have found it easier to use very thinned down washes and add a second, or even a third, coat if necessary.
Lord of the rings Orcs should be brown in my opinion. Uruks should be a darker brown. But I follow his Highness Tolkien not the evil empire. :)
Should you paint further units and want a green tinge you could try Vallejo yellow green (Now called green yellow) VAL 881. It may need a little brown added or a brown drybrush.
I'm not familiar with Opaque, but in the dim and distant past, I've mixed inks with an acrylic varnish and painted that over the relevant parts of a model.
Could that work ?

I think it depends on how dark your brown is, if it's a medium or dark brown, then I think it's going to be hard to make it greenish with a wash. I'd either dry brush on a lighter brown, then a greenish wash. Or maybe paint the flesh greenish, using the brown as shadows.
Tan I would have thought would have turned green fairly easily with a wash.
I would paint green and wash with a brown tone rather than the other way round
