Hello chaps,
I am putting an order together and among the items is the Minibits Snakerail Fencing.
https://www.pendraken.co.uk/red-vectors-10mm-fences-picket-fencing-red-10fnc-04
Now the description helpfully informs us that the length is 80mm but would anyone happen to know what width each 80mm length occupies please?
To explain the reason I am asking; I want to also buy some 80mm bases and the requested input would be helpful in deciding whether the width ought to be 20mm, 25mm or 30mm.
Thank you one and all,
Theo

The MDF material is 2mm thickness and then it would depend on how 'jagged' you assemble them. From memory, the base size on the regular and irregular fencing is 15mm width, so you'd want a 20mm width base as a minimum for snakerail.
You're a star Leon. Many thanks for the helpful reply.
I saw the original question and thought "That's a Pythagoras problem".
Seeing the later posts I realise there's a lot more to it.
It also occurs that not every rail will be 80mm.
Meticulous modellers might consider buying an additional pack (or two) and shortening some of the rails.
Unlike the straight fences, the snake rail fencing doesn't need to be based. It will quite happily stand upright due to the zig zag nature of it.
That's not to say you couldn't base it but you would have to have a think about how many pieces to a base and what the ends look like so they join up.
Ohh Yes, the ends.
So much to consider.
I will order three packs of fences and some bases and experiment. It sounds as if this is best resolved by having all the pieces at hand and experimenting.
Thank you one and all for your advice/feedback.

Let me know if you'd like some different size base samples adding in, for testing.
Thank you Leon; you are as ever too kind!
