What ho!
What colour were Egyptian guns in the Sudan misadventures?
Seeing as they were used on both sides...

Found one image that suggests dark grey, another dark blue.
But seeing as these were no doubt done hundreds of miles away and after the event, not sure they are trustworthy.

My research (a far while ago now) left me with the impression that they were a dark blue-grey.
But I also expect that this weathered considerably in the heat and dust of Egypt and the Sudan.

So I painted mine dark blue-grey as a base and then heavily dry-brushed them with a very light bone-white, to give that on-campaign sand-storm blasted weathering effect.

Cheers

Years ago I found this...
"Egyptian gun carriages/limbers:  Krupp guns would be medium blue-gray with steel barrels."

So that's how I painted mine.
