Title: Deployment and Concealed Troops

What is the convention regarding deploying concealed units?  Based on the definitions of concealed on p.15 a high % of units start the game out of sight.  Do players typically use counters until the actual unit is revealed?  And if so, I'd imagine you'd need to distinguish concealed unit counters from hidden unit counters as per p.60?

That's an interesting question and one that I'd be very keen to hear answers to from other players.

I tend to use a coloured counter(s) for Hidden movement (as they represent a whole formation) and have made up some bases with terrain on them but with no units on them,  but with distinguishing features (numbers of stones, puddles, bits of debris or fencing or bits of branch etc.) on them for individual concealed units. I stick small pieces of paper under these with a number on, to correspond to a numbered list of the concealed units.

But that's just my way of doing it  :D

Thanks Mark, that makes sense for hidden deployment.  But do you also put down markers for concealed units until they become visible to the enemy?

You can play it either way
1). put down the actual unit and a concealed marker against it
0r
2). put down the concealed marker and reveal the unit when it either moves or is discovered
Either is acceptable - and it depends upon how 'friendly' your game is.
