This is possibly a silly question: I'm using sabot bases for the first time for some 20mm Nappy figures (for Sharp Practice) - the figures bases are really quite snug (read "tight") in the shapely round holes and I'm a trifle fearful that once I have spray-varnished the based figures and the sabot bases (separately) that they might not fit together anymore.
Am I being daft? I almost want to put them into the sabot bases and spray them in situ and then take them out before they dry (and become immovable) as that seems safer... any reassurance/advice welcome!

It very much depends on the tolerance between the hole and the figure base - and it sounds with these there isn't much, which is great to stop the figures rattling around, but as you say can be a bit tight.
I'm not sure a coat of spray varnish is going to have that much thickness to it. But on the other hand I can't really see any downside to what you are suggesting, and if you have textured/flocked the sabot bases then the spray varnish will seal everything nicely.

Talking of Filing, I remember seeing mainstream TV documentary a long while ago about Dominatrix's (I think that's the plural of Dominatrix - perhaps FK can correct me.)
They were interviewing one of her customers and one of the things he liked was for her to gently rub his member with a grater.... :o

In the late 1990's we shared our floor of the building with BT internal network security team. they spent most of their days checking peoples internet histories to see if anyone had accessed dubious porn sites or had been blocked from a suitable site, as the filters were not particularly good. eg they blocked the Peter Pig figure site. Most of the security team were Hackers in their spare time and we got lots of free software often before the official release. We all got on very well together as we all worked long shifts out of hours.
One of the guys at the Wargames club served at the local RAF Halton site. He was telling us about a site that had the fire arcs of all the Army Bases in Northern Ireland on it. It also had a book called the "the Big, Bad book of Fun - AKA The terrorists Handbook., that told you how to make skeleton keys, use a "bump" key, how to make a garrote, how to make a pipe bomb using none safety matches etc.
One afternoon I was bored so I downloaded the "Big,Bad Book of Fun". Before it had downloaded I had two of my Colleagues from security stood by the desk - It had raised all sorts of alarms and they had quickly traced it to my PC.
The severity of the alarms meant a full report had to go into senior management. Fortunately the security manager was a contractor who I got on really well with. Senior management were told the download was "an exercise to check the robustness of the network security, adjustments have been made to ensure this site is blocked and all traces have been removed from the network.
What it did not say is that before removing the download they had burnt several CD copies for themselves. I think I
still have mine somewhere.
One of the women I worked with in IT had the job of setting up new laptops and checking that the security package (among others) was properly installed. She had a list of sites she was to try to access, if any of the attempts succeeded the package install had failed to load properly.
As a result pretty much every laptop on the estate had made at least one attempt to access hot hunks dot com.
New head of the PC (as in laptops and deshtops not political correctness) Team runs a couple of scripts and wonders what sort of organisation he's just joined!

Was it the Palace of Westminster guide to London Services?
I work (part of the week) in the Palace of Westminster and have been blocked from accessing the most anodyne of web-sites - most notably ones to do with the Grateful Dead (admittedly, a once well-known set-list web-site was taken over by a porn company in the mid-00s).
Alex Allan, a very high-ranking civil servant was a Deadhead, and, although he was for a while head of Government cyber-security, I couldn't even access his Grateful Dead lyrics web-site!
I was once interviewed by our security bod as I had tried to access a site in my lunch break which had been flagged as pornography.
The offending site was a well known wargames figure manufacturer who's site, as far as we could see was flagged because one mini was described as "female centaur, naked." Apparently female and naked in a sentence was enough to get the site flagged!
