My painting hit a brick wall for mush of the autumn in 2024, right up until Christmas. Since then it seems to have returned and I have been pleasantly surprised with what I have achieved in the past month. The paint pen troll (with a wash) works well. A number of people are reporting good results with these. 

I did think the snake model was painted using pens, but I assume that is done using contrast paints?

That's right, but I intend to have a go at something more colourful with the pens soon.

I don't think you should be beating your self up about not painting when you've been on an overseas family visit.

I liked the WOTR figures; having painted quite a few myself it's always interesting to see how others have approached them.  Like me, you've used circular bases for the command bases; something I tend to do whether the rules specify round bases or not.

I also rather liked the snow effect on the buildings. was this moulded on the items or did you add it yourself?

My eyes aren't what they used to be, so I rarely appreciate thumbnail pictures properly.
