I have just been looking at some old posts, and many of those posing used to post regularly no longer post at all.
One member i noticed was only active for 10 days. Some members who have not posted for years are still loging on but not posting. It makes me intrigued as to what has happened to them, particularly as some were quite prolific posters and very involved with wargaming.
Obviously some have gone to the great wargames room in the sky. ( Do you have to be holding onto a lead figure or dice when you die to go there? Like a Viking has to have a weapon in his hand to go to Valhalla?). - On that note one gamer friend was buried with dice in the casket.
While some of us are regular posters well over a decade after joining - Is this a positive showing we are dedicated, or a negative saying we have no life?
Of those still with us, I wonder if they have just drifted away from wargaming, got fed up with the forum or moved wholesale to another scale.
Having said all this , the Forum is a friendly place and we have a sense of community - helping each other out with various wargames issues, and I for one have both received and sent surplus wargames stuff free of charge to and from others on this forum.
Including plasters and steristrips, eh, Mark ?
Cheers - Phil :)

One of my friends was buried with an element of figures from one of his armies, while wearing his football strip.
I suppose we ought to be honest with Orcs. There is no such thing as Wargaming. Mrs Orcs is part of a female conspiracy paying us to keep you out of her hair...
I was wondering where John Cook has got to?
He hasn't been active on here since July - which seems like a long time.
Hope he's okay.

I wondered that too and likewise hope he is OK

;D ;D
Well as I have my own Den, Storage lofts and almost exclusive use of the dining room as a gaming room , I can't complain

Is this the one where Saint Peter says "Rather late to claim a saving roll, sir".
There's a bit of a global crisis with all forms of social media at present.
On the one hand you have massive global platforms.
These struggle with excessive advertising, hostile shitposters and lunatic owners.
Or, like here a very small dedicated fan forum.
It's a great site for specific communications, especially when Leon has a message for the fans.
But the volume/outreach is low - even as a proportion of wargamers.
Our hobby is incredibly diverse.
People might drop in and realise their taste for 3mm Zanzibaris won't gain much traction here.

Yeah, but some of us will never give up on the campaign for a Vijayanta model

Well, they only last 20 minutes.
QuoteWell, they only last 20 minutes.
And scaled down to 3mm, that's just two seconds.
Plenty of time to swap sides and play another game.

That was Nobby !!! He was found guilty by a jury of his peers.
(even if this was a miscarriage of justice)
