Come in then, what did you get/give yourself today?
Blood Bowl Vampire team
Queen's Envoy mounted set for Border Wars (think Blackadder and co)
Bowie T-shirt (asy cat is called Bowie, it has double relevance), a signed Alex Horne taskmaster book, socks, a cupboard full of sweets. Good haul.
Midgard rulebook, which I'm very happy with :) .
Ordered Saga Age of Chivalry
Another year's renewal to my spouse visa. Curiously, all the documents specify "Thai wife" as the grounds for renewal, much to the amusement of a female Polish friend married to a male Thai, who by a happy accident of sexism never has to pay for her renewal.
An Army Painter wet palette, and lots of books, including a history of the siege of Chester.
Replica Fighter Control sector clock; the one with the red yellow and blue triangles
Scimitar into Stanley by Roger Field - should be good inspiration for scenarios so I can get my Pendraken Falklands forces back out on the gaming table.
Scenario book and army guides for War of 1812 - I don't have armies for this period (bought up some in 18mm and sold them off). Perhaps I will give it another go in 10mm or 6mm?
Osprey Campaign Blood River 1838 - I recently picked up Pendraken Boers and will paint them up for some Zulu/Boer and Anglo/Boer games of TMWWBK.
Will be ordering the Perilous Dark solo expansion for Frostgrave later this evening.
Nothing (yet) as we are doing presents when the kids are here on the 27th.

Ahh, bother. Last week it was on offer, fiver off I think. Now it's full price again. :-\
One of the books I got over Christmas was the Osprey Armies of the Greek-Italian War.
Normally I like my WWII forces to be about a squadron of armour with a company of infantry. I already have the Italians, but the Greeks ... well they weren't much in the armour stakes. However, a paragraph caught my eye.
"A Mechanised Division was established ... of 3 regiments (each of 1 lorry-borne infantry regiment(??(, 9 x Italian light tanks, 25 British tracked carriers, one artillery battalion, one AT company and one AA company."
Apparently the Greeks also ordered (but never received) 14 Vickers 6 tonners. They also bought 24 88mm AA guns.
So, if the Greeks had got what they had planned, I could have a squadron of Vickers 6 tonners, with some L3 tankettes and Bren carriers in support. The infantry could (ironically) be proxied by the Italian infantry.
Best of all, I could chuck in a couple of 88mm guns for fun and frolic.
When we finally did presents on the 27th I got a load of books (mostly history), a Fall of Rome board game (quite good when we played it the other day) a box of 28mm skeletons and a Wings of Glory (so 1/144) Handley Page 0/400.
