I've voted. 

But I agree with the others, that bi<timeperiod> has become thoroughly confused in meaning. 

Depends on usage.

"I have to pay £100 bimonthly" - every two months
"You have to pay me £100 bimonthly" - twice a month.

Biennial plants are ones that grow one year, then flower the next and die. So I always see Bimonthly as every two months generally speaking.

Are biweekly and fortnightly the same?

All I know is that I can resist one news release of new figures but on the next one I bihelplessly

True, but for that one we have the difference between biennial and biannual, whereas here there is only one bimonthly  :-\

Although you could almost use fortnightly if it's at a regular interval  ^#(^

It should be every other month, but agree that current usage means it can be read either way. 

So you are working out how often to buy units for your two (should that be Bi) Prussian Napoleonic armies - either every two weeks or every two months.

So I have a question  - In the Napoleonic period the Prussians had two distinctive uniforms. Does this mean they were Bi  uniform over the period?  Or they changed their uniform Bi periodly?
