Last month I had the pleasure of five days touring six battlefields between Nashville and Atlanta. These will be familiar to many readers of this forum but not to all. I've done a blog post, not as a comprehensive travelogue/guidebook, but as a taster to encourage others to explore this tract of territory that is so rich in Civil War History, hence I hope a light read and not too long:

Good man. I hope to get to it myself during the 2025 campaign season. Looking forward to your game report.
Lucky man

How did that go . Mrs D has a family connection to Resaca . Sergeant Hassel Hopper of the 101st `Illinois ( he was from near Scarborough in UK) . He kept a diary from joining up in 1862 to the end of the war and we have a copy of. It's mostly hurry up,and wait if course - but this is the time period

That's so cool
Interesting stuff
Just don't tell the locals you're doing a "Sherman tour".

Yes it would go down well
Interesting diary
"Laid out as skirmishers all night" isn't something I was expecting
The focus on how many miles marched each day is more expected
The only line link to it is here
