Title: 10mm Napoleonic commission.
Post by: Duke Speedy of Leighton on 21 November 2024, 11:05:35 PM
Mostly MM, but a few Pendraken Austrian infantry mixed in. The owner will do their own basing later.

Pendraken figures are definitely better proportioned!

Blimey Will, Austrians, French and Russians! Is he getting you to paint all the Napoleonic armies?

Loads of horsies!

I'm not sure that I like the way you paint the cavalry the wrong way on the painting sticks  ;)

I always put them so the horse body is parallel to the length of the painting stick - makes it easier to access more of the horse that needs painting. I'd have through having them at 90º to the stick makes it hard to paint the sides of the horse, but probably makes painting the faces of the rider and horse easier.

It was just the way it happened. Some are 45°, some 90, some just how they stuck

All awkward for photo taking!

Surely also awkward for painting.

I have started being very precise on putting figures on painting strips in the same poses together and facing the same directions - it does speed up painting when you know the same brush stoke to make on 8-10 adjacent figures, and what angle to hold them at to best access.

Sometimes! I tried to put them into groups, but I will often put a figure backwards or something to keep me on my toes.  ;D
