Title: SYW Armies for sale
Post by: mollinary on 07 November 2024, 09:02:41 PM
I am unsure whether it is appropriate to post this here, or even if there is anywhere on the Forum which would be more appropriate? As I pass 70, I am reviewing my collections against the criterion of how often I have used them in the last 10 years. I find my beautifully painted (by Clibinarium and Kev Rouse) Pendraken SYW collection has not received the outings it deserves, and perhaps might find a more appreciative owner.

It contains over 2,500 figures, in 83 horse units of 8 figures each, 100 foot units of 16 figures and 13 of 8 figures, 48 guns and crews, and 156 command figures comprising 46 brigade commands of 2 figures each, 16 division commands of 3 figures each, and 4 Army commands of 4 figures each. I am reluctant to split it, but would welcome any suggestions as to how best to dispose of it. If this post breaches any forum guidelines, please feel free to delete it.

How I would love to be able to buy them back!

Ok I just did the core of it, but you understand the sentiment. The initial armies were my pride and joy, but I had to sell them as I was broke at the time. I put a lot of work into them, and Kev did an awesome job painting the rest in a consistent style (matching another painter's style is no mean feat). These armies will be among the nicest that exist in 10mm, and I hope they find a good home.

You should put some pics up- I'd love to see them again.

Hi Clib, I fully understand your sentiments, they are easily the best painted of my collections. I would be happy to post pictures, but would need Leon's help, as I have never been able to get my pics down to the appropriate size. I just tried a couple, but it said I couldn't download that sort of file!

I should have said the armies are Prussian and Austrian, with 11 units of Bavarian and Wurttemberg infantry added to allow Leuthen to be attempted. I also have all the Saxon Cavalry who continued to serve with the Austrians after their country was occupied.

If you still have my email shoot me message and I'll see if I can sort out some pics to post here.

They are on the forum from 2010.

I've just posted on that thread so it should come up on your recent posts.
