Many ancient army lists , have a "mob" unit". Could be have an ancient version of the medieval peasants please
Couldn't you just use the medieval ones ?
Bit upper-class for Orcs

Yes .... in the same sense as people who want 17th century English Pikemen could just use Macedonians instead. :)
- I thought the title of the thread was just slurring the good folk of this forum
- What kind of ancient peasants? Mediterranean? Northern European? Trousered? I would be interested in the former but not the latter.

That's a great tip, I was wanting to add a bit more variety to my ranks. ;D

But Pendraken don't seem to do a Macedonian range, so perhaps people who want Macedonians might want to use ECW pikeman (if they weren't armed with boar spears, that is!😀😀)?

Plead temporary insanity. You might just get away with it.

I was thinking something generic for the Mediterranean. perhaps in simple tunics with bare legs, and agricultural tools, knife, and perhaps the odd spear. With old men, women and even children/adolescents. To cover Greeks and Romans, as I dont think they would change much.

I'm in.
GRE7 as a proxy for now?
In general, a "civilian" pack and a "mob" (which is different) pack would be useful in lots of armies. I imagine though that most of us would only want one of each max so its probably not high on the profit making list.
Maybe add to the new "Goth" range (and my daydream "Hun" range) as Roman townsfolk prepare to fight or flight against the hordes?

I think your onto something there.
A civiliam/Mob pack could be quite generic, covering from about 300BC to 200AD or thereabouts

3000BCE to 200CE quite possibly.

3000 may be a little early to get a generic dress.
As to dating it I chose to use BC and AD as it is what I grew up with and what I prefer. Neither is wrong as they both use the same datum point.
Yes, you are probably right, in the 3rd millennium BC at least most peasants in areas with armies are likely to be in kilt rather than tunic.
I fear I tend to use BC/BCE and AD/CE depending on what I've been reading most recently as much as anything. BC/AD is what I was brought up with but in truth I prefer BCE/CE when I remember.
I've no real problem with either, as you say it's the same dating system just with different letters.
Each to their own, I say.

Yep, the world would be a boring place if we all thought the same - but probably much more peaceful.
