A true and faithful account of the recent action fought by that most gallant gentleman Sir Ralph Hopton in the King's cause against the rebel forces under the Earl of Bedford near the town of Bridgewater in Somerset may be found here (https://d6onod6.blogspot.com/2024/08/the-battle-of-bridgewater-kings-war.html).

Great stuff. :)
Excellent stuff and love the baord game mixing with the table top for the battles created :) .
Great report!
Hi
Many thanks for this. A friend and I have been looking for playable campaign system to use with the 'For King and Parliament' rules and 'The Kings war' looks as if it may fit the bill. Will be interested to follow your campaign and particularly interested in how you transfer 'battles' from the board game on to the table top and vice versa.
Thanks again.
Cheers Paul

You are welcome. Transfer from the board game to the table is simple. The board game has counters for each infantry and cavalry regiment and requires you to specify which commander each unit is assigned to, so the army organization is sorted out from the campaign system. It is moving things back the other way that is more complicated. On my blog I have just posted a reply to a comment that illustrates some of the issues. It will probably take a few more campaign turns and battles to build up familiarity with the board game - we haven't yet got to seiges, desertion and recruitment - as well as tinkering with the battle rules to get something that works well.
