As you've taken a chance on South America before with the Chile-Peruvian range for 1879, it would be nice to see some figures for the War with Paraguay in the 1860s. This range would have the advantage of only really needing Paraguayan figures (The ACW and European 1860s/70s ranges pretty comprehensively cover the other combatants), and as the army of Paraguay had basically one uniform for everyone, it cuts down on the figures needed for the range.
You could get by with:
Paraguayan regular infantry in prewar uniform
As above, but in kilt
As above, but in loincloth
Regular cavalryman
Aca-Caraya Cavalry in helmet
Artilleryman
Generals and El Caudillo Lopez (and possibly Lizzie Lynch!)
There is a good book by John Tuohy sold through Caliver that covers the period well.
DANG! I saw Triple Alliance in the title and thought, YAY, Aztecs, Mayans and Toltecs but sadly it is another range that would absorb my hard earned cash ;)
I also thought we might finally be getting the real Triple Alliance.... :(
Yeah, Leon, 2012 if fast approaching and to save the world you need those Mayans done before January 1. Remember only Pendraken can "Save the World" with the release of Mayans before 2012, then all the End of World predictions will go way since the Mayans will be back :D
And since you have the Mayans done you need someone for them to fight soooo. . . those Aztecs and Toltecs and Olmecs need to be finished as well :-bd
Hey Fierce, did I forget any "ecs" ? ;)
Fuzzy logic :-\ :d

Tlaxcalans. Spaniards alone would be too limited.
Hijack your own thread! :P
Sorry Rob :)
We did get carried away :ar!
However, I also would like to see those Paraguayans and your descriptions would look cool m/
Well done Rob, this one gets my vote.
Having read the articles in WI many years ago and having the book from Foundry there's lots to recommend this bloody conflict. :)
I'm joining in this OLD request. Sorry for the delay I'm pretty new :P
I hope you dont mind me resurrecting this thread but I would like to add my tuppence worth and vote for Paraguyans.
Thanks. I was thinking of resurrecting it as well. Pretty please topped with a frosted cherry give us Paraguayans!
Just don't confuse honest requests for Brazilians with the Totty thread!
Just thinking it would be an ideal time with the Osprey out in March.
Gets my vote again!!!!!

Would say bearing in mind the huge amount of figs that can be proxied from other 19th Century ranges, adding a limited range of Paraguayan figures would really open up a new period

Oh, that Triple Alliance.
The real one is now reasonably well catered-for.

Does you de one youse intrested in ?
BUMP
How much interest is there in getting some Paraguayans done? I've recently acquired the Foundry book and the Tuohy bookon this war, looks kinda interesting, and was looking at possible figure substitutions in 10mm, and realised that everyone is catered for except for some Paraguayans..

Add my vote please. I would love to see the War of the Triple Alliance.
I'd still love to see this come to life!
I could definitely get behind this. As others have mentioned, the Paraguayans and a few others could be done to make this gameable in 10mm.
Ditto!

I'll throw a vote in here too
Strill keen to see this and a list of what people would use as proxies.
I would definitely buy armies for this.
