Title: WW2 Naval rules
Post by: Last Hussar on 09 July 2024, 10:50:30 AM
Hi

I've got GQ2, but haven't played them in years. Is there any other rules you'd suggest, or shall I relearn GQ? (Orcs did give me a cd with GQ3 on, but I don't have a CD drive at the mo!)

Take a look at Victory at Sea from Warlord, not played yet but look good. Its very well supported on Facebook.  Also A&A Engineering may have sumat, if they are still around

I have GQ2 and Victory at Sea and of the two prefer GQ2. I just find the latter easier to get my head around.

However, recently I've been playing Sam Mustafa's Nimitz/ Halsey rules which I prefer to either of the other two.

It's quick to play, simple mechanics and for me gives the right results (sometimes for what feels like the wrong reasons). It won't be to everyone's taste but I recommend giving them a go if you get the chance.

I forgot about 'Nimitz'. I do like Sam's rules, so I'll give them another look.

As you may have noticed I'm a big fan of GQ2 :)
