We mentioned earlier this year that there'd be a bit of an expansion coming for our Indochina range, just in time for the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu. This batch covers some new French Paratroopers along with a load of conversions on the existing Vietminh figures to give more variation.
Some of these go with items already moulded years ago so we'll do a bit of an overhaul to some of the codes and add more poses or tweak things to make them better.
Timelines should have these ready for release before Salute, all being well.

Seriously impressive updates
Hurrah for these! {he says Woosterishly}
Seriously impressed with so many variants - and with the berets for the French too!
Timed pretty much seventy years to the day after first serious bombardment on the fortified camp happened!
And there's always plenty of scope for traditionally dressed civilians in other conflicts.
Those look superb little miniatures :-bd
Love these ! I'll be getting some 👍🏻
Wow...another tempting range.
Well those are just lovely - I'm glad I didn't hit 'go' on these a million years ago now, and can therefore do Dien Bien Phu soon & in line with the 70th :)
I'll be getting out Kim Kanger's gaming masterpiece over the weekend, Dien Bien Phu: The Final Gamble, and looking forward to playing some IABSM games (with Indochina Ain't Half Hot Mum mods) using my current Pendraken Indochina forces over the Easter break.
Great expansions to the existing ranges, with them being useful for other conflcits I'm sure, especially the civilians.
They look really nice
Today is the seventieth anniversary of the fall of the 'French' garrison at Dien Bien Phu - any update on when the new minis will be online to purchase, Leon?

This completely missed my radar. Will definitely be purchasing some of these to help diversify my sculpts.

Not far off hopefully, Salute prep stole all of my new releases time last month so I'm a bit behind there. They've all been master moulded so I just need to check them over and get the production moulds prepped. It'll likely be after Partizan.
Thanks for the update, Leon!
Where's FSN saying he's going to buy them all?
Nah. Not me. No. No way.
It is written "for all in the one true scale is available to me, excepting the tricorn which is an abomination; the League of Augsburg which is neither fish nor fowl, nor crawling thing nor axolotl; and the tropical forest where there is just too damned many trees."
I have resisted a Australian C sqn 1st Armoured Rgt with Centurion tanks, and M113s from 1st APC Sqn carrying infantry from the 1ATF, supported by L5 pack howitzers from 1st Field Regiment Royal Australian Artillery, and maybe some Iroquis from 9 Sqn RAAF- not given Long Tan even a fleeting thought - so I think I can resist a few French paras.

Nice colour FSN

Well, never say never.
Those French Paras may find themselves at Suez ... but no foolin' around in the dense jungle as a lady I knew in the 70's used to say.
Have these new sculpts been released yet? Very excited to get some variation in my armies with these little gems.

Hopefully soon, as usual some other things have jumped in the way of successful progression and put me way back on these. The French moulds were all finished last week and then we've got 10 x Vietminh moulds and 2 x Misc moulds to be finish it off. I probably won't release them before the Games Day (20th Jul) and then I'm taking a short break (25th-30th), so I'll get some photos done as soon as I get back to work.
Looking forward to these too, although my plan to rebase my existing Pendraken Indochina minis has foundered - I appear to have used superglue to fix them to their current bases...
Superglue debonder?

It seems to have received mixed reviews, at least one of which is possibly intended to be humorous - I do like the crisp honesty of "Easy to use but ineffectual".
When the two surfaces are still in irresistible contact with each other, how does one insinuate a de-bonder into the non-existent space between them so as to 'unglue' the glue (as it were)?
I think freezing may make the glue bond brittle?
I might experiment with that. Plunge some hardy FFL paratroopers from the steamy jungles of Tonkin into the family freezer!
Quote from: Raider4 on 15 July 2024, 08:51:48 AMI think freezing may make the glue bond brittle?
I think that might depend upon what is stuck to what.
Metal figures to plastic bases certainly works (in the freezer that its) - but mind you don't snap the figures off at the ankles as they are very brittle when frozen. Best approach is to freeze them and then flex the plastic bases and the figures should just 'ping' off. If they don't, then put the bases back in & try again.
Metal figures to MDF not so great, as the superglue gets absorbed by the MFD, but it will come off, with small bits of MDF still attached though.
Plastic figures to plastic bases - forget it (in my experience) as the breakage rate was far too high.
Thanks for that - mine are metal (Pendraken, obvs) stuck to MDF. I shall have to try not to be as ham-fisted as usual.
I had a number of (15mm) modern figures stuck to small squares of plasticard. No idea what glue I used but it took two tries, months apart, to get all 9 off.
I did think about rebasing my in progress WWI 10mm from 30mm x 30mm mdf bases to 25mm x 25mm but don't think I can face it for now.
I'll have a think about Indo China - the figures look good but it would be yet another period!
Edward
Can't wait to get some of these figures...
