Title: Another new guy working on a Pike and Shot project
Post by: Keraunos on 03 February 2024, 10:11:57 AM
Hi.  Last year I branched out in scale and period to try my hand at 10mm armies for the Thirty Years War and English Civil War period.  I've just placed an order for a third batch of Pendraken figures, even though I still have a few from the first batch and a lot from the second that have not been painted.
Should keep me out of mischief for a while longer.

Some progress reports and a first battle report can be found here -

Welcome Keraunos :-h

Some nicely painted and based figures there :-bd  =D>  :-bd

Cheriton is a very interesting battle, I've run it using For King & Parliament rules https://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,18482.msg277002.html#msg277002 (https://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,18482.msg277002.html#msg277002)

What rules are you looking to use for your Pike & Shot project?

I'm also curious what rules you use for your trieres, penteres and other additions for the ancient fleets :-\

Thanks for the welcome.  I am starting with the Twilight of Divine Right rules but have 'Tilly's very bad day' and 'In Deo Veritas' on the shelf to try out if Twilight does not give satisfaction.

On the ancient ships, I am using Tumbling Dice's 1:2400 scale models.  I am developing my own rules.  Initial testing reports are found here:

Nice looking galleys :-bd  =D>  :-bd

The rules sound interesting and look to be pitched at the larger battle level I'm interested in

If you're interested in another play tester, send me a PM  :)
